Since we can put range+tracking enhancers on either our low slot or medium slots in EVE, could we have a low slot range enhancer in Dust? Thoughts? |

I would guess that he means weapon range enhancers. The answer to that is no. |

Make it an effective range mod, and give it like 2-4-5% We could also take damage mods, and make them racially acclimated instead of weapon type. E.g gyros go in lows, effect projectiles.(optimal range/RoF bonus?) Plasma field stabilizers go in highs, affect Plasma hybrid(possible RoF bonus?) Magnetic field Stabilizers go in lows, affect Railgun hybrid.(effective range bonus?) Heat sinks go in highs, give lower damage bonus, but also affects overheat.(maybe gives optimal bonus? 1-2-3% if so)
Edit: effective range enhancers would go with lows, and would be universal.(unless we mix the bonuses with dmg mods?)

Maybe, but the Pro min assault only has 2 lows.... so the race that built projectile weapons wouldn't get a whole lot of use. Min assaults need those for either a rep or a pill. (or both)

Properly balanced I think it's intriguing idea. We already have DMG mods, at least a weapon range enhancer would compete and would be a viable mod.
I don't know if a percent increase would be the way to go though, because that would heavily favor long range weapons. Similarly to how DMG mods heavily favor high rof weapons. |

Yes, that is a good point. I suppose it begs a fundamental question about developing a game like this, namely do you give bonuses to make things better at their strengths or do you shore up weaknesses? |
