Those shoulds are actually how they were in closed BETA but got completely buffed and nerfed because of some CoD crybabies who wanted them to be like their weapons. The tactical ar originally had a lower damage(like it is now still with the sniper rifle) and the breach had a higher DPS and it should be like this again.

Allround weapons are like assault rifles in real life. I just didn-¦t use this term as it would lead to misunderstandings. They are just weapons that have no real role. They are not as good as machine guns at suppressing, they don-¦t have a stopping power as shotguns and are not as good as taking out distanced targets as sniper rifles but they can work quite okay in most roles.
Games aren't real life. All around weapons kill diversity and depth. There should be no generalist weapons in Dust. The current one's need to be reworked so that they, too, are niche weapons.
Just to add a little more detail : Generalist weapons can not be properly balanced with niche weapons. A generalist weapon ends up either being OP, or worthless. If it's worthless, then it might as well not exist. If it's OP then all other weapons might as well not exist. Either way, it's a fail. This has been a primary balancing issue in Dust since the start. Generalist weapons are bad for gameplay and depth. |
