yes. Bring in rockets and make them the missiles of today (only up the splash radius, nerf the already OP damage), and give small missiles a swarm-like setup, and large missiles semi-auto with slight homing.

as an incubus pilot I do not approve of this idea at all, as a tank pilot I think missile launchers need another looking at some ppl can make them work really well and completely slay armor tanks with them, but in general I think they should get some more spam in exchange for a little less wtfbbq. |

I actually really like this idea. Dropships could become great at anti tank. Tank VS tank battles could be decided by who has more swarm gunners at times. I just wouldnt want the tank swarms to have much range 100 meters tops. 150 for dropships
No idea on my guns right now. Getting majority to level 3 at least, then deciding.

I think that they should add in a harness feature for vehicles like LAV's and Dropships as a weapon slot choice, so that people can shoot out the side with what ever weapon they have.
Then its up to the pilot to drive/fly so that its useful. Also it would then limit the amount of people that can fire out the side for balance. 2 for dropships and 1 for LAV's.
Also being exposed out the side would leave you more vulnerable than a gunner with a small turret.

I'll throw in an 'ignores cover' and a 'still in range from the tops of tall towers', in exchange for the invisibility only happening at 200m+ :P
Come to think of it, that might be why swarms were nerfed to 175m lock on range... how cunning, CCP.
Happily printing ISK with permahardeners and MLT blasters.
Just let me get a couple mil more before nerf, CCP!

But I do like the idea of small swarm turrets. They would have to be short in the ammo department for balance purposes, though. Doing hit & runs with an LAV could actually be useful. |

I once suggested small turret swarms. Dropships will have more rolls then " uplink slayer". LAVs can be a threat to tanks without REs, not to mention give them more of a use on the battle field. Tanks will probably have just as much fun with small swarm turrets. Small swarm turrets will also include the kind of teamwork tanks always tell AV, because a forge gun quortet is aparently not enough teamwork.
I'd say walk in my shoes for a day, but you probably still won't understand.

they would be specificly anti vehicle turrets like swarms currently are, but i was thinking about eveyesterday and wondered if the minmatar were going to have some kinda missle turret like in eve, and as i continued thinking i realized that the caldari should have a swarm variant of their current turrets and minmatar should problyget mor rapid firing rocket like turret.
i realy dont think that large and small swarm turrets mounted and stationary would be a big deal, especially for lavs or tanks, but dropships may have it a little tougher than they already do but that is a completely different issue. |

what fotm, are you talking about tanks or rr heavies or damage modded rr logi's cause thats the only fotm currently and i dont really have a problem with any of that crap. the only peole i that would honestly not like this idea would may be dropship pilots or people who unreasonably hate any form of vehcle combat |

for one there would be poor cover from a dropship firing SLs and then yea air combat gets decided by who spams the most auto lock missile instead of who has the skill to hit the other ship given the current weapon. something in this game tha hasn't yet been tarnished by all the crap that goes on down on the ground. we fly to escape the casualization of the game and hate to see it creep into that corner with auto anything including auto lock on weapons.
