Let me elaborate a little...

There was a guy during beta that objected to the use of the word 'suicide' on the respawn screen (it was removed, but it was there instead of respawn) in case his kids saw it.... I simply don't want my kids seeing this **** in any form just yet, I can almost get away with dust due to its unrealistic setting and characters in my opinion - but I do switch it off when they enter the house, and don't normally play until they have gone to bed.

Plus that game you linked looked like it could have been one of any other number of shooters on the market to me... so meh Roll

The PC and SL should fit into the Sidearm slot so it's accessible and practical to carry one.

Needless to say that kid is one of the most awesome respectful kids I know that isn't some weird basement freak (hard to find a respectable kid with good manners and not some basement dweller). Anywho, the kid plays and watches some of the most violent stuff possible since he was 5. Hell, we watched Robocop together unedited when he was 6. We are all like that in this family. It's all about how you raise your child and the narrative you give them in life. You have it in the back of your mind that x will have this affect on them and express that to your kids. bam, x does in fact happen to your kid because narrative was already placed down. Obviously there are some things that will in fact have an affect no matter what but things like this? Only affects their minds when you don't do a good job of teaching. I'm doing a lot of rambling here but I'm tired of people seriously doubt the power of parenting.

I think you're wrong personally, you just need to look at EVE and how much it's changed in 10 years to see the CCP design philosophy at work. And EVE players got all the expansions and everything for free. Yes, you could argue that by saying that EVE players pay a subscription fee per month, but if that's what it takes to make Dust great, I'll happily give CCP my hard earned money. And if I'm wrong. It's (currently) a free game and even if it wasn't I'm still having fun from it, so nothing really lost there. I'll move onto something else if the game dies. The only reason it worked for EVE is that there are no other games available in the same genre/scale/vision. Waaaay too many FPS's out there that do a lot of things better than Dust. Until Dust offers something different that's polished, it will always play second fiddle to the latest game. I'm all aboard this thing baby. I'll be back to dust one day, but after a year of 'hope the next patch makes the game not sh!t' you just get bored of it.
