So um... *sucks on teeth*... considering that 1.8 is likely to come around early March and we have not seen a single new Dev Blog so far since the end of January of this year, are there any improvement (mechanics wise) coming for the Nova Knives?
And by "improvements" I mean at least one of the following:
1. Fix that god damn annoying part of the knives that causes our sprint to be interrupted whenever we even instant-swipe the knives against someone. If I'm chasing someone and I swing the knives, I expect to keep on running. I can go outside in real life right now with a kitchen knife and swing it around while sprinting through the neighborhood and I'm not even wearing a dropsuit. Of course, I would need to do that safely without someone calling the police on me thinking I'm some crazy nut with a knife. So why is it that we're 20,000+ years into the future in this game and I can't even do that with my dropsuit and knives?
2. I CAN HAZ SPRINT WHILE HOLDING CHARGE??? PLZ. THK U.
3. I would really appreciate it if you guys would at least fix that bug where the knives seem to stop swiping after 3 consecutive instant-swipes.
4. So about that temporary hot fix you made for the knives back in 1.6, is that being overhauled finally in 1.8?

Fail reply is fail. Nova knives are technically triggered as sidearms. Not as melee weapons.

Most of the time the problem is lag especially when you get close to someone. But there are still plenty of cases even now where I thought to myself...
"Damn it, if only I didn't have to walk to the bastard with charged knives."
or
"Why did I stop sprinting? Had I kept on going I would've had him!"
or
"OMG, I HAD HIM! Why does using the nova knives result in me having tunnel vision?"
It's those small problems when you really want the knives to be addressed. Sure, the incoming cloak might help but that's just like putting paint on top of corroded metal. You won't see the corrosion but the corrosion will still be there causing problems.
The point I'm trying to make here is that these problem, though miniscule, are the equivalent of a thorn on one's side. Most of the time a skilled knifer wouldn't need to worry about these problems, but when these problems do crop up it creates a level of frustration that lingers for quite a while even in a 1v1 encounter. Sometimes the most practical solution is to just jump-charge attack someone and that really helps but that trick only works one time per encounter and if you fail to kill at that point, your chances of survival drop significantly and you're left up to chance to see whether you succeed or not.
It's these little things that should be part of the "1,000 Paper Cuts" that, if addressed, can finally remove the annoying thorns on one's side. In the meantime, these problems are mostly bearable so long as I don't find myself in situations where they can be a complete hindrance.

Well, I can confirm that the knives no longer jam up after three consecutive instant swipes. That's an improvement for once. Now I don't have to worry about freezing up my knives if I have to slash wildly in a tight situation.
But still... too many instances where I often yell at the TV whenever I'm in a small room with an enemy merc and I can't stab him because:
A) Tunnel vision B) The 1.6 hotfix for the hit detection is reminding me why it's only temporary according to CCP. C) My sprint gets interrupted when I use the instant-swipe.*
* - The problem with "c" is that whenever I'm chasing someone and deal damage with the instant slash, the enemy at that point already knows I'm there behind them after they hear the slashing noise and they lose their shield. At that point it becomes critical for a knifer to do another instant-slash right there on the spot while their still behind them. But because the sprint got interrupted and the enemy is still moving, that ninja have to first sprint again to catch up and by the time he catches up it's too late. The enemy turns around, back pedals, and opens fire. Game over.

To be honest, when I hand someone the knife I lack the courtesy of giving it to them handle first.
