DUST Search - why does this game have less players online than a 1995 fps?

Because Dust 514 is a FPS RPG grindfest where the newberries get thrown into the year old vets in tiny battlefields where PVE doesn't exist to alleviate the fun they aren't having. The players who stick it out learn quick that any given month CCP will nerf something causing their stuff to suck, like the minmitar assault, because of other abusive players using what CCP never play tested. It's a perfect storm of awful that I can't help but flagellate myself with just hoping it will get better.

Just most people go, well I guess i'll just play another fps rpg that doesn't like to screw me over. Yes, there are other fps rpgs though they are mostly on the computer. Free to play even, just not as polished usually... and Korean... but hey at least those games have like a monster or zombie mode or something for PVE.

News flash no game have even been developed as poorly as dust has. When they released skrimish 1.0 they bragged it would be the smallest game mode and PvE would be out in 2012. (huehuehuehuheuheuhuehuehuehue) I'm pushing a game from 2002 that will never have a MT shop or cost any money, I'm not trying to sell anything, I just want dust to be like C&C renegade. It has tank battles, air versus air, large maps, income matters. The biggest thing is in renegade you only win when you blow up the enemy base, not just some control the points gamemode. You know, like dust was when the MCC moved across the map... I don't want a lobby shooter I want to advance and take over, win, nuke it from orbit.

Also: dust has 4000 players during peak times online at the same time. That still beats c&c renegade, which was released 2002 btw. And not 1995, like your title wants us to believe. Seems legit In 95 I think the very first Command and Conquer came out so yea no way that game had released. However he was saying the remake version runs on UE3.

A game having the broadest form of "RPG" elements imaginable is in no way intelligently comparable to ANY RPG that has FPS elements. CCP didn't even have to fool you into thinking gaining SP is equivalent to "gaining levels", you drew that conclusion yourself without even thinking of its stupidity.

I can't even think of another real RTS FPS Dust was only truly more RTS in skirmish 1.0... but the hopes of dust 514 are to introduce more rts elements... I just want Dust to go back to being a game where you attack a base and try to win. The rifle you're holding at the beginning does resemble a gallente assault - but the sounds are more "visceral" than Dust, although that weird "boing" sound when someone dies sounds out of place. :)
