This fact here, and many other examples of it, is why tiericide-as-an-answer for the NPE/'proto'stomping problem remains fundamentally unconvincing to me.

So what, you don't think he would have done even better if he was using prototype weapons and dropsuits stacked full of the best modules? Tiercide won't solve everything, but it will certainly ameliorate the issue.
Presumably some of the peeps Mossellia was facing were using proto.
And that's my point: to invoke tiericide here is to treat the symptom not the cause. Fix the fundamental problems first and then it will make sense to look at tiericide from a gameplay/aesthetics point of view.
But to undertake tiericide based on the argument that it may ameliorate 'proto'stomping would be an investment of too-limited resources on a goal that does not address the fundamental problems - player education via the NPE, matchmaking and passive ISK faucets.

Exactly. Right on the money, and exactly the kind of clear-headed experience-based independent thinking i want to see from CPM candidates.
P.S. Don't actually know who's running for CPM1 at this point. When CCP shows their hand re development direction, priorities and roadmap i'll start investing time in the platforms for the various candidates. Do we have a charter yet?
