Sounds clich+¬ at this point but I simply insure that I make more money then I lose each match. It's really that simple.
Stick with ADV suits and if you feel things going south you can switch to STD to remain effective but cheap, MLT to be cheap and ineffective, or Starter to just stop wasting ISK.
Not gonna lie though...the stuff these guys said isn't exactly misleading.

I'm at just over 2 mill atm and I'm trying to bring that up by running Militia suits and BPOs almost exclusively. When you don't have to pay to replace equipment all the reward is profit. That and it gives me a chance to try out different play styles without much in the way of investment.
There are services which will take isk from you in EvE to give to your dust character, but they're entirely player run, with the inherent risks involved in that. Plus they usually have an exchange rate.

99% of the isk profit is from farming PC districts. Locking them generates 8-10million a day per district without the fear of losing the districts. If a corp has about 10 districts then they can pull in roughly 100million a day, 700million a week. If you distribute that evenly to your corp members, which is what most of the large corps do, then each corp member can make on average of 15mil a week. Considering the fact that it's really difficult to spend this money in a week, one can potentially just keep making profit every week.
Another way is what some of us noobs do, we run in militia gear (blueprints that we got before they removed them) and we can run in potentially free suits all day long, or very low cost suits like 3-13k per suit. So a huge majority of the money you make in a match is profit.
Then the last 1% is corp theft, scamming, and/or selling those heavy BPO's. (Though I'm not familiar with how that works)

We get weekly paychecks from our corp based on PC matches played, and payouts from being hired ringers. Its a more fair system than simply being in the corp and getting cash for just being there IMHO. Its not a HUGE paycheck (>10 on average) but it covers the costs of gear lost during PC, and gives us a little profit at the same time.
I burned through all my uprising funds donating it to newer players, and testing things out. (I went through a month phase where I would send 10 million to the LVP who I actually saw trying each match that I played. You know the ones, they try so hard to help out but they just end up getting screwed over at every turn, they try to stick with your squad, but they get sniped after every spawn, random grenades or bullets kill them out of nowhere...You can tell when someone is horrible at something but is at least making the effort)
I'm back up to 240 mill mostly from running standard fits in 99% of my games. My main logi suit that is still helpful to my team only costs me $18k, and if I want more tank I switch to the raven assault suit with all bpo gear. 650 EHP and all BPO stuff for a total cost per death of $0. Running cheap fits, one can make upwards of 12 mill a week.

stack your isk by running fits under 10k
use your SP to upgrade core and passive skills
get 1st - 3rd place in your pub matches
use your starter/bpo fits more then anything else
I myself use bpo scout suits with over 16 million SP invested into core around 13 million invested in weapons and my racial scout is maxed
a usual loadout for me would be
bpo scout - racial at level 5 high slot - militia light damage mod low slot - militia profile damp low slot - complex cardiac regulator equipment - advanced uplink grenade - packed AV light weapon - standard combat rifle sidearm - syndicate smg
my weapons have operation 5 and level four everything else
now with a fit like this you can duplicate it and ad the other 2 advanced uplinks making 3 fits, 6 uplinks, and allot of warpoints for cheap label them something like 1-3 and cycle thru them as you die

vets its mainly from the salvage refund. noobs its from spending couple hours a da doing the whole biomass thing. ou can have 16 accoutns on a playstation 3. if 15 of those use all 3 chars to biomass that 1.5mill isk per account per day so 22.5 mill in total. plus 1mill a day fromt he 2 spare char slots on your main account then if ou grind ambush in a basic logi suit ou can earn about 1mill an hour profit depending on performance

Uprising refund was pretty spectacular for most of us. You were getting 5 dropships at a time (one game I got 20 dropships, 5 prototype logistics, 5 advanced swarm launchers, and 2 locus grenades; yes, dropships came in batches of 5 but be sure to only give out 2 grenades at a time...) so there are people that had over 100. That huge influx of cash put me to about 100 million or so but it has obviously dwindled to about 70 as I am a tank driver. Other got over 250+ million isk from that payout. From there, if you run ISK positive or just barely negative, you can keep your fortune safe.
Most of the people that have hundreds of millions are probably CEO's or Directors of corporations and treat the Corporate Wallet like their own personal piggie bank. If you have 200 members playing 3 matches a day getting 150k each with a 5% tax rate, you are looking at 4.5 million isk a day and that is easily a very conservative numbers. The big shots in the corp take the money for themselves.
People can easily have a tidy sum by the simple concept of "get more than you spend." If you play 3 matches a day, get 220k a match, spend less than 10k per suit, and just die less than 12 times over those matches, that is a half million a day. Give it a month, that's over 15 million. It adds up very quickly. Run Militia or BPO and the cost per death can drop to less than 1,000 isk meaning more money. |

Think I had maybe 25M from the refund when I came back 1.2 or 3. 150M now, pretty much just from pubs, and I've given away a good 40-50M on top of that. My most expensive pub fitting is an Adv Amarr Assault fit with a mix of Basic/Enh gear at ~16k, recently raised from 12kish due to replacing a Militia Plate with an Enhanced. I still run much cheaper ones pretty regularly. My Commando alt created in November has like 60-70M, another (Minja/Min Assault) I started playing around Christmas/New Year's is at about 35M, both with no donations. Design your fittings carefully and play smart. It isn't that hard. |

I've made about 40M from playing (oftentimes most of my suits are in the 20K range), but I did receive 120M from the uprising refund due to LOTS of expensive salvage (dropships, tnaks, etc) back then.
Now days its the <20K suits that makes the ISK (and the 100K+ suits that blow the ISK) |

Not that I haven't spammed the forums enough already; however, I am running a lottery (Dust Challenge Lottery) that is ending tomorrow at 7pm EST. The pot is currently at 406.5 Million ISK. You could always try your luck.
Yes, you can buy tickets; however, it's not necessary with the challenge writing and completion component. Follow the link if you're interested.

While it is true that lots of us recieved a nice handsome amount of isk in exchange for our salvage, that isk went very fast when assault dropships came out let me tell you!
I just ground out 150m isk over the past weeks and months. I sent all of this to my alt for safe keeping.
Now im back to about 4m and will proceed to grind out more isk, bit by bit. I use starter fits a hell of a lot, I also use the militia forge and sometimes militia fit standard logi bros. I keep it super cheap.
It is very possible to grind out 50 mill, 100 mill, 200 mill etc.... My personal goal is 1 billion isk. It sounds a lot but I am making good steady progress. The best thing is , this is all off my own back. No pc battle isk, no PC farm passive income, just grind and more grind.
So ANYONE saying they have no isk, well you do have ways to make isk. You just have to be prepared to take a hit to your KDR. Personally I am not hugely bothered by my KDR but it was around 2. something and now it has dropped to about 1.7 / 1.8 and it will probably fall further.

Missed out on that falchion money from the event, I wasn't bothered by not getting the tanks until they got refunded for cash. AARRRGGHH!
I'm still sitting on the 30 mil I got from uprising (it really was crazy how many proto dropships you used to get in salvage.. now all I get is breach shotguns and specialist swarm launchers I'll never use... sigh), it was up to 60 mil, but then FW stopped giving out ISK and I started flying dropships and.... well, now I'm back to using just BPO's for a few weeks. I use the 30 mil as my "zero" point and do my best not to drop below that.
Anyway, for vets we got a bunch of free money, and the really rich get it from farming PC. For new players your only realistic option is to use starter fits and not care about your KDR.

Just from capping out each week I make about 10-15 million ISK Dragonfly scout -0 isk basic shield extender - 900 isk shotgun - 900 isk toxin SMG - 0 isk locus grenade - 900 isk compact nanohive - 900 isk basic profile dampener - 900 isk basic armor repairer - 900 isk
total cost: 5400 isk (cheapest suit)
Most I'll die in a single match is 10 times. Typical ISK payout is 300ISK per match. net 240,000 ISK every match. 50 ambush matches to cap out. 12 million each week. I had around 300 million at the end of April. I had about 600 million when the buy-back happened in May. Currently I have around 200 million. This is because I like to loan out isk with interest, give it to my friends when i'm drunk. pay my squad to run full proto in FW (not corpmates) give them bonus ISK for winning. Put out bounties on people in game and pay them at the end of a match.
Though even when I run proto in pubs... i do it from time to time... I still don't lose ISK. I lose 0-3 suits, usually around 110k each and end up breaking even at worst.
I do make isk from being in a PC corp but most of that ISK just funds my silly little endeavors mentioned above. That and dropships. I go through dropships like candy.

Economize War Points, by:
- Don't run proto (or advanced) suits if it won't make a significant difference - Don't equip stuff that you won't use or won't make a difference (as a scout, does it matter if you die in 0.4 or 0.5 secs?) - Invest in passive skills (don't cost anything and help all your fits) - Invest in proto weapons and damage mods if you rely on alpha damage (shotgun, sniper rifle) - Maximize your characters strong points (speed & stealth for scout, versatility for logi, plates for tank, etc.) - Don't play a role that doesn't fit the current battle (e.g. AV when there's no tanks)
The more War Points, the higher your standing, payout and profit at the end of of the game. |

Or more logically, and I am arguing with you, they are PC corp players and print isk out of their locked districts.

Don't run expensive gear, i find that a std assault suit with a std gun and adv modules just as effective as a fully adv suit but way cheaper, guns especially seem to be more expensive from std to adv but not that much more effective. |

I had 70m before the skill tree revamp. When the reimbursement came, it got me 195m. I spent 25m buying back skills and equipment and since then from 170m i climbed up to 234m right now.
I run ADV, between 46 to 55k suits and a few times up to 67k. I have a STD 19k backup for those battles where odds of dying above the threshold are high.
EDIT: Never played a single PC battle, no interest so far.

Apparently CCP messed up on the EVE-DUST link. Before they could fix it, some members of the RENEGADE ALLIANCE on the EVE side managed to slip through a stack of cash to the DUST side, thus kick starting the domination of PC we see now. In short, a lot of people now can run proto continuously. Instant win button
Be interesting to see a lot of these almighty slayers run basic or adv gear and see how well they manage then. Wonder if they are using skill or just OP gear right?

I made a bet with someone that I could get a nova knife kill in a commando suit. Ended that game with an extra 1.5 million.
Usually outnumbered 7:1 and still kicking

The ones who did it were in alliances that were extremely relevant then, though are not so much so now.
PC Farmville is bad, but please, get it right when bringing accusations.
