Stats have a profound effect on the play of the game and are a way for the developer to signal how they want the game played. Prominently display KDR and you promote KDR based play. Bury the stat and promote ISK efficiency in its place and you promote playing well with the cheapest gear. Suddenly the proto stompers show up at the bottom of the listing if they die a few times. Combine ISK efficiency with WP and you see who can help achieve victory with the least cost. Either CCP is unaware of the power of measurement, which seems odd given their obsession with numbers, or they just don't care to promote their values with in-game stats.
