Reset KDR for 1.8, or better yet do away with it.
Since that is not going to happen, I suppose my complex kinkats + RE will be the only defense from PROTOS IN PUBLIC MATCHS FARMING KDR POINTS WHO QUIT IF THEY COME AGAINST ANY REAL OPPOSITION.
This one time, me and my buddy spawned it and it was 2 versus 6, and he is like, "wanna drop" and I said, "why, this is the first fair fight I have seen today". Dropped my militia tank and blew up a LAV roaring in. Thing had NINE remote explosives on it. Then was shortly killed by a proto blaster tank, piloted by a proto gal logi with a second LAV coming in behind it................THEN I quit match.
There are everything that is wrong with this game, I realized, why am I working so hard at this, by the time I am near the same level destiny will be out and I will probably be quitting anyways. Why take the pain, I have been playing for 3 months now, got 2 others to join and you have made public matches, nay, this game, miserable. ItGÇÖs funny, first month, ofph, this is rough, second month, I am getting stuff, cool, I can fit this now, third month, this sucks, I am still 8 mil away from even being competitive. When ttk is under 2 secs and people get 1/2 sec advantage over you due to SP, and it will take 4 more months with boosters to get there, man, this sh*t is broken.

What you just explained is exactly what every new player in Dust thinks. It's not about the KDR, it's not about the win. People use prototype gear to be competitive and have fun, if using better gear saves you a couple deaths then why not, especially if it means you're having a better time.
If you have the SP and ISK then what else are you going to spend it on?

KDR only has a little to do with protostomping. You forget what universe we're in; we are in New Eden, a place were tears are a valuable commodity, a place where any mail but hate mail is junk mail, a place where people will do what ever they can to p!ss you off so that you'll post an angry comment on the forums for them to laugh at. Go ahead reset or remove KDR, they'll still do it for the "lols".

I am competitive with 4 mil SP, my KDR is around 0.78, but super tired of seeing groups of proto corps running together and obliterating everything around them. THERE IS ANOTHER LEVEL ABOVE PUBLIC MATCHES if you want a challenge.
God, I have grouped with "certain" members of some of those corps, and have literally heard, "you guys suck, i will have to transfer to an alt because I can't die this many times, I have to maintain a 2.5 KDR for my corp". Oh really? you canGÇÖt stomp faces alone? Well, thanks so much for helping us learn, I guess the lesson is just take the faceroll for a year til you have enough SP that someone will let you into a corp, wait wait, first get your KDR up, THEN you can join us.

Usually when people on the other team are running decent gear I'm not going to pull out my STD junk, just like in PC. However there is a fine line between proto stomping and using prototype usually if I don't need it to keep up with who I'm against I won't bother.

Heh.. Teamwork is OP, they'd likely smash your face in without prototype depending on who it is as long as they coordinate together.

This is a ridiculously uninformed post. Plenty of good corps with good players have not KDR requirement. Join them. Or, you can continue with your pathetic victim mentality. |

ThatGÇÖs the second time you have thrown that in my face, I don't play to stomp, I play to win, I travel to the other side of the map along the edges to hack a CRU when my team has been red lined. I creep into a city after everyone has run to the next point to take something back over, I run a militia fit to throw RE into a heavily equipment spammed domination point to take out the 10+ clustered people repping and spamming grenades. I have turned the tide of battles. I am a loner. My KDR doesn't matter to me as long as I am able to plant a RE on the back of a tank and free my team from the tyranny of tank514*. |

It is only cause I hate all These thread about kdr being a bad statistic. Every body here knows that it is not that important, but someone, Like me for example, likes numbers. It doesn't mean I camp to obtain a better kdr or I dont want to win or I use fotm. Kdr doesn't make me a bad Person.
And I know (because I know) that corps that has a kdr prerequisite want anyway to see you in battle, eventualmente if your kdr is Low. If You are good and effective in battle that will want you, no Matter for your kdr.
I have a Friend that is a scout with a hoorrible kdr because at start he doesn't know how to play for a long time. Now I think he is one of the strongest player I know. |

I have SEEN MoLabe park a TANK in front of a CRU and mow people down to go 38/0 Spawn camping the last red CRU isn't about padding KDR, its more for the lulz at the idiots who spawn there 4-7 times in a row thinking that they will do better the next time
Most intelligent people will realize that its a lost cause and actually try to spawn somewhere else and push up with uplinks (They give us those nifty little things for a reason) while the other people will just spawn and spawn like lemmings and get ripped apart by whoever is doing the camping.
Hell yeah I spawn camp the last red CRU, in standard gear (Because TTK is so low that proto has really lost all meaning unless you are stacking damage and tank, not my style), and I'll TK the ******* blue that thinks they are doing the reds a favor, or feels its not fair and tries to hack it in FW. Anything worth fighting for is worth fighting dirty for, welcome to New Eden.
On the flip side, if were red-lined, or only have a final CRU that's being camped, I spawn with a speed/damper tanked logi and as many links as I can and scatter them EVERYWHERE.
You don't like it, do something about it instead of continuing to spawn on that location and then cry about your pointless KDR.
Officially under 3.0 KDR. STD > PROTO

Quitting anything, even a video game match, is a sign that you don't know how to deal with adversity and choose to go the easy route because you don't enjoy the challenge in things. It doesn't say much for your inability to accpet that sometimes things get hard.
Sometimes, getting stomped teaches you a lesson and though that lesson may be difficult to swallow, you can still learn from it.

Actually, yes. You will find players of all skill levels here. We have some very casual players who enjoy their .5 KDR. We also have very good players with a KDR that matches the gross domestic product of developing nations. Most of us land somewhere in the middle.
