3% increase to light weapon/sidearm effective and maximum range.
Credit due to Kagehoshi, Rail weapons, bar the Forge gun, should have a nerf to base range.

Range is a bad idea. Ye olde Sharpshooter was removed for that reason. Being able to shoot father "cuz i haz more sp" is not a good thing. |

I would strongly support if the hybrid-rail weapons got a range reduction to compensate.

As much as I'd like to agree higher level weapons have longer ranges.

What if its racial bonus significantly reduced the spool time for Rail Weapons and increased their reload speed?
-10% Spool time and +5% reload speed for Hybrid-Rail Light/Sidearm weapons per level.

...because the LR isn't a rail weapon?
And all the other bonuses are for specific weapons, ergo LR would be even more outclassed by the RR than it is as is.

Then that is no bonus at all. It's the same as giving Minmatar the clip size bonus of 10% and reducing their clip size by 10%, whats the point? |

But only slightly. Basic RR has an optimal of 65, and the Proto has a 78m optimal. That is 13 more meters.
For the record, a 15% increase in the range of a Proto RR would put it's Optimal to 90m and it's effective up to 117m.
For a gun with massive range, this would in fact push it over the top. Range for the RR is fine right now, what it needs is something to help it put more rounds down range accurately ( I'm in favor for a kick reduction. Thing kicks like a mule)

Shield regeneration bonus for Gallente Assault is about as useful as Sharpshooter for Nova Knives.

Make Spool up time .5 seconds, and give the CalAssault -10% charge time. At level 5, it'd still be .25 seconds.

I'm pretty sure CCP is going to be fairly unwavering in their desicion of weapon based assault Bonuses.
I get the feeling that they are doing the same thing to Assaults that they are doing to Logis, but with weapons instead of equipment. They are going to nerf weapons, then give assault suits bonuses that help to mitigate those nerfs.
I wouldn't be surprised if the Rail Rifle gets a reduced magazine size or an increased reload time. I also wouldn't be surprised if the Assault Rifle gets a nerf to its dispersion, the ScR gets a nerf to its RoF/heat buildup, and the Combat Rifle gets a nerf to its magazine size or burst interval speed.
You Caldari and Gallente Assault guys are going to have to decide what you want.

What on earth is the point in giving the assault suit a range bonus which simply negates a new range nerf which you'd add if a range bonus was added ?? W e are better off not having the range bonus in the 1st place and not having the range nerf either and keep the current range ...
