i believe all equipment should be used strategically not spammed to the point of being a crutch. all equipment has a certain number of uses, except the rep tool. if the scanners had been something you could place on the ground and would last until it was destroyed, it would be much more balanced and not abused like the active scanners are.
anyone else agree? or should we keep stealth out of the game?

scanners are too tacticlal, don't believe me? try using one in a fire fight and see how long you last. also rep tools and injectors don't use amo bro.

I don't mind scanners tbqh, just get some dampeners or a cloak if you want to sneak, otherwise be visible anyways scanners are getting nerfed.

To be honest I will be sad when scanners won't be able to do 360 scans, right now people place too much confidence in them and my shotty scout teaches them the meaning of true situational awareness |

Yup, scanners getting a nerf is weird indirect nerf to my playstyle; a 'scan prevented' kinda means 'go kill nao!' to me.
Experienced/better players are going to more cautious (e.g they already learn to cover each other when hacking after I double/triple Kill them the first time round) and the less experienced players are either gonna be directionless or charge at any red chevron that pops up.
Deployable scanners would be the proverbial **** though (had no idea that word was censored here...).
You probably don't know me. But next time you get gunned down or exploded by a Valor scout...check the name.

Yes, yes they should. They should be replaced by very obvious short ranged scanners, that are peaceable.

Removing content is literally the opposite of what you should do in a game that lacks content.
Instead of removing content, CCP should be adding new content and balancing what we have.
In this specific instance it seems like a new piece of equipment that inhibits scans (passive and active) would find a nice place on the battlefield. It could even be a deployable.

I agree with Kig - removing content is a bad idea.
Don't remove them, just make them less effective. They should scan instantly then take a second or so to process the results before displaying. This would get rid of spin-scanning, and the info you get would be slightly out of date and would not update.
I'd also like to see "scan locator" passive dropsuit modules. If you have one of these on your suit and you get scanned, the location of the scanner is revealed on your minimap (and also for your squad mates).

My only quarrel with active scanners (other than the 360 spin scan which is being fixed) is that they don't put the user at risk while giving them easy kills. Anyone using an active scanner should light up to the enemy, with the duration based on their own profile. Whatever the scanner uses to ping dropsuits should be detectable by dropsuits and traceable back to the origin. It's practically the same as sonar: you send out a ping to detect your surroundings, but anyone in the near surroundings can pick up your ping.

it would be nice if they added an anti scanner into the equipment. deploy a small bubble that completely counters all scan attempts.

They're getting changed, you will no longer be able to just spin around and scan the whole field, this should reduce the amount of people using scanners significantly as well as their usefulness.

They just need a little balance. They're ABSOLUTELY not working as intended.
I don't think we were supposed to be able to scan at 360-¦ if we turn on ourself. |

I'm not a fan of the out of date scan information you suggested, but the "scan locator" module would be great! |
