If no one used proto in pub games the stomping would be less intense .. sure there would still be stomping but 6 guys in ADV/STD are alot easier to kill than 6 guys in proto stomping So please for the love of god stop with the 'I want to help the community' nonsense .. if your still using proto in pub games your just continually adding to the problem At least have the decency to acknowledge the harm your doing to the game .. NS at least admit that they don't care about anything other than stomping and if it kills off potential new players then .. so what .. my stats are being padded

Someone was going to do it, I figured I'd just get that out of the way. It is hard not to personalize these things but really, neither side consists if demons, although there may be some scattered about. The stompers aren't mean nasty bullies, they are just guys who want to play hard, unfortunately they are hurting the game, even for themselves. They aren't doing anything wrong really, winning and playing hard is the point of the game. Babar 'a takin baby steps in the right direction, maybe some exposure to new players will open his eyes further.

EDIT Seeing as everyone only focuses on being offended by an analogy I;ll remove it and see if anyone actually posts a response that Isn't OH NOOOEESS IM OFFENDED Sorry but seeing as I made a character 6 months ago and had to put up with you and your corp protostomping me as I went from 500k SP up to 12m SP it is impossible for me to ever have any sympathy for you and to support anything you do that isn't you not using proto in pubgames in Terms of training there is nothing you could offer a new player that someone who actually went through being protostomped could do better aside from maybe what the FoTM is or what glitches to use I actually stopped playing for 6 weeks and nearly ditched this game for good because I got to the point where i'd had enough of the game because of people like you .. you have absolutely no idea the harm you have caused to this game and you will never understand and this isn;t due to playing solo or anythign like that .. this is playing in a good experienced squad using tactics like sticking together etc etc but still getting stomped because we'd end up v 2 stacked proto squads with us in ADV and 10 randoms .. when that repeatedly happened there is little you an do other than simply not play the game If you think not using proto in PUB games is gimping yourself then you really don't get it .. even in STD/ADV you will have a huge advantage over new players trough experience and passive skills .. if you then add Proto gear and mods on top of that then it's just overkill and this is the problem .. if you were good you wouldn't have to use proto constantly in pubgames

Which is the reason I do not understand why they still use proto gear ... and surely it can't be that big of an ask to at least give new players some sort of a chance to have fun I did say to Babar that they'd likely still stomp but it would be less intense and less likely to end up with new players leaving the game completely

"On the highest level", by that I mean I've played for and against almost all the corps in Dust. I've played alongside the very best players in this game without making a fool of myself, well mostly. Please elaborate on why Dust uni can do a better job than me in teaching new players? Just because you state it doesn't make it so. Facing of a stacked team isn't easy for anyone regardless of gear. First off, why would I play solo? If I were new to the game and had less fancy toys than the rest the first thing I would do is to find some decent people to squad up with. That people are stupid enough to run solo and then complain about losing is entirely their own fault. I did do a 10 games in a row test (I do this from time to time) in a 35K suit alone in domination. Worst game was 13-5 best game was 40-4. I might just have been lucky. I did come up against some stacked teams, they were good enough to win and redline us but not good enough to completely stomp me personally. I seriousl don't think I'd do very well as a new player coming in right from the academy. I do believe I would've had a positive KDR, there are just so many crappy players in this game regardless of skill and gear, in any case I'd keep fighting and pushing all I could, I've always been like that. Using a rep tool is ok, I prefer to use my gun and drop rephives, this way I can slay and support at the same time. So me being and plaiying as a logi for a year is considered FOTM? Shouldn't that be FOTY? Well I don't use damage mods except for the occational times I go assault sniping. Yes if you take the very best fits of the game and compare it to starter fits off course there is a difference. For me its natural to compare enhanced to proto, It took me what? 2 weeks to get a decent enhanced fit up and running. "On the highest level", by that I mean I've played for and against almost all the corps in Dust. I've played alongside the very best players in this game without making a fool of myself, well mostly. Please elaborate on why Dust uni can do a better job than me in teaching new players? Just because you state it doesn't make it so. Facing of a stacked team isn't easy for anyone regardless of gear. First off, why would I play solo? If I were new to the game and had less fancy toys than the rest the first thing I would do is to find some decent people to squad up with. That people are stupid enough to run solo and then complain about losing is entirely their own fault. I did do a 10 games in a row test (I do this from time to time) in a 35K suit alone in domination. Worst game was 13-5 best game was 40-4. I might just have been lucky. I did come up against some stacked teams, they were good enough to win and redline us but not good enough to completely stomp me personally. I seriousl don't think I'd do very well as a new player coming in right from the academy. I do believe I would've had a positive KDR, there are just so many crappy players in this game regardless of skill and gear, in any case I'd keep fighting and pushing all I could, I've always been like that. Just because you state that it isn't doesn't make it not so and as I explained earlier the reason is simple .. you have no idea of what there situation is afterall you do just tell people to 'get good' .. look at your sig lol I said solo because you claimed to be some kind of DUST god so I gave you a scenario with which to actively test how good you actually are .. not how good your squad is .. or how much SP you have ... how good you personally are and tbh playing solo in a std fit on a 500k sp alt v 2 stacked protosquads with 15 random starter corp players on your team really would be a test of your own skill ... You have to add in passive skills to its efficiency too .. this is why I keep telling you to give proto gear a rest in pubgames and just use ADV ... you don't need proto to do well ... on my ADV suit i have 413 shields 138 armor but use 2 basic profile dampeners and an ADV weapon a STD sidearm and a STD grenade (I don't have electronics and engineering to 5 only 4 atm) Which is exactly what I did .. this character is 6 months old, well my current main is but that's because my 1 year old character from BETA was a heavy and when we got a respec I stupidly put the SP into sniping and realised .. nah it's sucky so made a new character as a LogiAssault and this is exactly why that since I got back to proto I will not use it in pubgames I had to start again and instead of having similair SP levels to everyone I was 6 months behind and even 6 months ago it was fairly bad and it's got even worse over the past 6 months TL:DR I know I'm being extremely difficult and possibly abusive but that's because I know I'd be exactly the same as you are now if I hadn't started again and the only reason I see how bad protostomping pubgames is, was because I went through it .. even with all that experience under my belt It was still murder Honestly if you made an Alt today and played it solely for 6 months you would completely understand where I'm coming from .. using ADV gear on a 20m + SP character squadding with guys in proto isn't the same as having 3M sp squadding with other guys with 3M SP .. even with tactics and knowing the maps inside and out when you up against people with the same level of experience but that massively outgear and out SP you there is NOTHING you can do but either die alot and let them pad their stats or give up and stay in the redline ... I took the 1st option and ended up quitting the game which is why I adamantly suggest new players go for option 2 .. just so they at least stay and play the game long enough to get to a level where they stand a chance Everytime I make the underlined point I get trolled, abused, insulted, get comments of 'get good' or When I play in ADV gear I do just as well as in proto etc etc

But you're mixing two things into one there: Vanilla start fit is WAY inferior to a STD or even MLT fit that has been modified well, fitting skill is an important part of dust. Differences in fitting create a legitimate difference in usability and power. Those default fits are really, really bad. If a junior player hasn't tuned them the way it can be done with 500k SP he is genuinely screwed over. That is also one of the biggest challenge in dust new player experience to overcome. There is a lack of players It's a catch 22 situation and honestly the only way this can be fixed is if either the protostompers are segregated away from the rest of the playerbase whether it be SP based matchmaking or Gear restricted gamemodes ... but due to a lack of players this isn't feasible right now If you stopped protostomping in pubgames the player base would increase and then CCP would actually be able to start implementing the real matchmaking system and possibly the other ideas to which would completely deal with the problem
