I just play scrim/fw, there's a reason there's no ambush or dom in PC.

It's like that in the entire game. Ambush is tank spam and Domination and Skirmish is pure Proto stomp.
Don't know why everyone is so into stomping these days. It's a huge barrier to any new players or casual players. |

So far the last 6 games of ambush I've played have ended with the opposing stacked teams losing less than 15 clones. No less than 2 tanks per match.

Managed to get 1 round of infy only ambush in. It was glorious and fun. Was met the next round by an insane tank stomp. Opposing team lost ~10 clones.

Im not even mad at the tanks. it the wide open maps that are the problem. no cover, no fun for scouts.

I like ambush. My scout gets a work out, it tests my aim speed and how fast can I kill you you protostomping bastard. It sharpens my skills while simultaneously giving me a walloping.

I'd agree. I'd say the number of fights that I get in any game mode that aren't one sided stomps are about 1 in 10 maybe even 1 in 20. Most matches you're either redlined and being farmed or the other team can't even make it to their home point before they are slaughtered.

was thinking this last night, they should have an infantry only Ambush. strictly no vehicles allowed (ie. you cant call any in)
have this in addition to the regular Amb and Amb OMS. that way, if anybody chooses the reg Amb, and wants to play as infantry, they know they will have to bring AV. the infantry only Amb speaks for itself, good old infantry v infantry clone killing fun. |

Every wednesday i afk skirm/dom or play ambush hide the uplinks and hide near the redline. Dust gets stale after each patch eventually because there's no emergent game play. 1.7 stayed interesting for a good while though. 1.8 might be interesting unless no one can use the new stuff for a month. Depends on respec.
E: by emergent gameplay, i mean pc not being a terrible game mode that isnt even worth trying to insert spies about. |

Sure, but wouldn't that require cooperation, maybe even communication? Me thinks this is hated even more than tankbush.

Half the problem with Ambush is that the game insists on smart spawning you in an area surrounded by enemy red dots and where your team is constantly getting killed. The game mode is won in the first 5 minutes of the match, if either team can get a foot hold then it's almost impossible to come back as even the friendly vehicle operators are disabled because there's no way for them to get out of the blueberry blender long enough in order to call in something.

Ambush has become the most broken and pointless gamemode. Unless you a a squad of bombass tanks, it's nor worth your time playing it. You'll generate more ISK and SP playing Skirmish and Domination.
I refuse to play Ambush, and anyone with under 5 million SP should do the same.
Spawning in front of Ion Blasters is not worth it... |

My reason? I never squad and ambush seemed like the place where squads, at least good squads, should least likely go.
Am I better off being a random blueberry in Skirmish than in Ambush these days? |

Oh dear Lord yes, not to say Skirmish isn't without its problems but at least you can survive a second or 2.
Just find a decent squad and you'll be golden, though proto stomping is still prevalent there. It's a pretty big problem right now for the entire game. |
