Yes, a scanner on the uplink would be perfect. And maybe a "boot up" animation where the player is locked in place but invisible and invincible, to allow you to orient yourself for one second. |

Some sort of mechanic against this would be great. an "Enemy Detected" warning would help, but it wouldn't fix the problem at it's core.
Perhaps if players are dying with 2-3m of the Uplink it would lock itself for 3-5 seconds, or until an allied player stays alive within it's range for more than 3 seconds.
Just throwing ideas out there no matter how many holes they have. Lock on death would kill any attempt at using the uplink for assault/counterattack.
The issue with spawn camping these days is that stomps have gotten really ******* insane. I was once assigned to a stomper team on Domination. One of the tanker sent me a message when I hacked a CRU, because they wanted to farm kills and didn't like that I prevented that. I think the major issue here is that counterattacks against dedicated tank forces are not possible at the current point in time. |

CCP should totally change the CRU, turning it into something different which doesn't allow spawnkill... think them as they were placed underground and you can exit from different tunnels... yeah, something like that. ...Or maybe make mCRUs the variant that is intended to be immune to spawn killing. "Huge scan range" sounds like overkill to me.
Then again, I have no clue how to use mCRUs. I put one on my dropship, but I couldn't use it myself after I left. We need the ability to put an mCRU into a vehicle, park the vehicle and then lock it. People will be able to spawn, but not into the driver seat. It would be a pure spawn point/turret. |

Nope, forget it. If I have to pay 50Gé¼ to properly play the game, I'll just go back to playing on PC. I already got multiple mics there.
Also, I enjoy playing solo. I prefer to not trust random blueberries. |

Guess why I'm even playing this game? I wouldn't pay money for a console shooter.
And I have made experiences with 15Gé¼ mics. I won't buy those again, especially not as console hardware, where not paying full price easily causes you to get really crappy disfunctional hardware. I still remember those third-party controllers one my Gamecube.
Anyway, do you want the game to get more players or are you happy with a steadily shrinking community? The reason for this game being on console and F2P is to create a low barrier to entry. Requiring a mic raises the barrier to entry in ridiculous ways.
Again, I do not play the game to socialize. I socialize if I want to socialize, because that's far more productive.
Anyway, this isn't even the topic. The topic is about spawn killing. Even with a mic you likely won't have the information required to avoid a spawn camped uplink. |
