Alright, I'm trying to stay calm about this subject and bring it to light without blowing a gasket.
I've put a lot of effort into my assualt dropships primarily the viper and I notice I can take a substantial amount of fire before I bug out. One thing I don't understand is why am I being sacked by enemy dropships that choice to run directly into me? I can take a dual mod'D hybrid projectile and it knocks me for a loop but it seems even a tap from anything in the air and my shields and armor drop to zero, I roll over and go down with my ship. There is no kill mail. There is just some coward laughing because he/she probably knows they just cost me a pretty penny. It does, and is getting very annoying that a complex shield system can not sustain a mildly speedy mid air collision. Am I wasting time asking for this to be looked into? I sure have wasted tens of millions in isk being batted out of the air by kamikazes.

I don't know what you're trying to get at, though. Ramming dropships is part of the game due to collision damage. Get an assault dropship and kill them before they get to you? That's the only fix I can give you. Rail turrets work wonders in vehicles. |

It's the same thing for ground vehicles. Why does barely tapping a tank destroy my LAV in milliseconds but for some reason it can take sustained fire for like 5-10 seconds.
Or why when 2 tanks hit each other do they almost always blow up? Thing takes AV like it is nothing but a slight tap and BAM! |

If only drop ships were made of the same stuff Eve ships are. You can run 10+ km /s at a station and bounce right off it with out a scratch! Magic! |

Why does your alt feel?
Being a drop ship pilot myself, and having on several occasions sacrificed my drop ship to take out enemy drop ship, standard and assault. I do agree in some way this needs to be changed, but not as extremely as you propose. Removing the damage or reducing it extremely would be unbalanced.
I would propose rather that instead this task be off loaded into two things:
1 Make active hardening modules decrease ( by a considerable amount ) collision damage in general.
2 Make in air collision damage scale with speed as was done with LAVs.
Secret option 3: Reduce assault drop ship cost :)

Best way to take out another dropship when in a dropship! I've done that with my ADS but it typically ends in both of us dying.
BTW ever a hard landing while hovering a few meters off the ground. Instant death if you keep holding L2. Hell barely tapping anything results in death (more so with the ground it seems)

Secret option 3: Reduce assault drop ship cost :) Reduce hull price to 200k Reduce max collision damage to 2000 or 2500 Or something no vehicle that is bigger than a car wity shield and armor systems shouldn't die in 1 hit

But if it could happen you would have eve pilots everywhere crashing into stations.

the game cant handel the calculations on top of every thing so instead of calculating the interactions properly the game is all like " QUICK DO THE THING WITH THE CRASHING & THE BOOMING! *explode*"
