Weapon limitation is not set for the Commando though, slightly diminished bonus might be in orderGǪ on the other hand Commando is not the easiest suit to useGǪ so even bonuses may be in order.

Sure heavies can use them too, but they're defining trait is the ability to use heavy weapons. The fact that heavy weapons have a limited selection has nothing to do with it IMO.
And it's only up to a combined total of 300, so at most I would say get maybe 200 Carthum Assault Scrambler Rifles and 100 Viziam Laser Rifles.

I understand what you are saying, my thought was along the lines of weapon limitations are often a part of events. Shinobi, Rifle event, Heavy weapons for the Sentinels in this one. The killing potential of the commando is higher than a Sentinel that is limited in weapons choice IMO.
That being said if the idea is to promote the use of the Commando/Heavies this event falls short.
On the plus side your event kicks ass on this one o7

Edit: actually with a cap on rewardsGǪ Forget it Commando should get the same.
If you have a twitter account, direct a message at CCP Eterne who is in charge of Dust events. Something like this. Maybe there is still time to update the event to include Commandos, it doesn't start until 9 days after all.
