You mean refund, and yeah, id imagine there will be some form of infantry refund. That combine with 1.7s vehicle refund is damn near a respec. Unfortunately it seems people will stop spreading themselves thin only after they get a full 100% respec, and then we will have a new batch of respecers after that.
I've heard it plenty before but I went through Jim Jones' suicide tape transcript to find a good quote...jesus christ.

Whenever CCP nerfs our gear, we should get a Skill Point refund. For example, I spent loads of SPs (and a month or two of grinding) skilling up Swarm Launchers, only to have them "renege" on the deal and leave the item darn near useless after 1.7. |

I made an alt which is basically the same thing. You DO NOT NEED A RESET. You just need to practice more and figure out how to earn war points apart from just killing things. I still do about the same with my alt as my character with 12 million skill points.
And if you do a reset, then I better get a refund for every penny I've spent to earn my skill points.
Further, you would have to do a reset every three to six months. The game has only been around for about a year and people already have 30 mil+ If you do a reset then you might as well forget skill points completely and let everyone run proto gear right out of the gate. But those new players will still die a painful horrible death because it takes skill to play games. |

If CCP reset (as long as they refunded all my AUR spent on boosters), I'd be fine with it, but it would only really work in combination with the implementation of tiercide, or meta-level based pub matches, otherwise there would be no point -- we'd be back in the same boat a year later. That being said, I don't view the massive exodus of protostomping bittervets that would ensue be necessarily a bad thing for Dust. I think there'd be enough new blood to sustain the game, after redberries find that they won't be stomped into jam.

If the action is illegal you can sue regardless of the EULA
PLUS
Parents didn't sign the EULA and anyone under 18 can not under any circumstances agree to a contract. So if a parents money was spent on an item, they are not bound by the EULA, and anyone under 18 was not capable of agreeing to the contract in the first place, so lawsuits could still happen, especially from parents.
Further a lawsuit does not require that you actually be entitled to one. I could sue you right now for some silly reason and we would both go to court. Yes I would lose the lawsuit (I hope.. I mean a lady sued and won cause her coffee was hot) but it would still (if you were CCP) cost you a fortune in money. Especially if you are CCP and have to get an American Lawyer and so fourth.
Also there may be other countries where the EULA wouldn't allow the removal of services that were bought.
So you can not make a contract that contains something illegal. So if the court believes that buying a skill point booster and then having those skills gained removed, then CCP would be liable regardless of the EULA.
Not to mention no one in their right mind would ever buy a Booster from CCP again if everything was just going to be reset.
CCP would have to essentially refund every single booster that people bought, which would cost them a ton of money in the long run since that is the only reasonable thing to spend AUR on anyways. |

So if a parents money was spent on an item, they are not bound by the EULA, and anyone under 18 was not capable of agreeing to the contract in the first place, so lawsuits could still happen, especially from parents. Further a lawsuit does not require that you actually be entitled to one. I could sue you right now for some silly reason and we would both go to court. Yes I would lose the lawsuit (I hope.. I mean a lady sued and won cause her coffee was hot) but it would still (if you were CCP) cost you a fortune in money. Especially if you are CCP and have to get an American Lawyer and so fourth. Also there may be other countries where the EULA wouldn't allow the removal of services that were bought. So you can not make a contract that contains something illegal. So if the court believes that buying a skill point booster and then having those skills gained removed, then CCP would be liable regardless of the EULA. Not to mention no one in their right mind would ever buy a Booster from CCP again if everything was just going to be reset. CCP would have to essentially refund every single booster that people bought, which would cost them a ton of money in the long run since that is the only reasonable thing to spend AUR on anyways.

They shouldn't have to. That's Sony's job while they're running through PSN.
Any child account should EITHER have parental supervision when playing paid games OR not have payment systems set up on the account to allow money to be spent.
Also, there would be grounds to sue after being promised no further resets by CCP, even if that promise isn't deemed legally binding.
More importantly though, NO RESETS, AND NO FULL RESPECS that just happen randomly because everyone is complaining, but a PARTIAL respec for major changes is acceptable. When vehicles got basically re-released recently, vehicle SP was refunded (partial respec). In 1.8 it sounds like there's enough change coming that an infantry respec would be worth considering. On a technical level, it ISN'T the same kind of change that has necessitated respecs in the past, but I'm still hoping for one. |

A reset would be hilarious. Surprisingly enough, probably the most effective way to get a larger player base. I'll miss the millions upon millsion of SP i've worked for. Might shed half a tear even. But for some new meat on the field? You guys are great and all, we've just been having the same fight for a year now. closed beta players got another year on that. They keep track of all your boosters and such, I'm sure they can give em to you again.
