A respec will likely happen in 1.8 given how big the dropsuit changes are.

Reset doesn't even make any sense. Why would you want to start over from nothing? Even if you made bad investments, they are still something.

Partial respec maybe. Total respec, no. Just no. That will just encourage more FOTM attitude and calls for more respecs when anything gets released.

If a reset, I'd just quit.

I made an alt which is basically the same thing. You DO NOT NEED A RESET. You just need to practice more and figure out how to earn war points apart from just killing things. I still do about the same with my alt as my character with 12 million skill points.


And if you do a reset, then I better get a refund for every penny I've spent to earn my skill points.

Further, you would have to do a reset every three to six months. The game has only been around for about a year and people already have 30 mil+ If you do a reset then you might as well forget skill points completely and let everyone run proto gear right out of the gate. But those new players will still die a painful horrible death because it takes skill to play games.

Honestly, a reset -might- be a good thing.
Everyone's on the same level as each other, PC will be set level, FW will be even. Pubs won't be stomped.

Of course you'd be having a max exodus of players greater than Moses leading the Jews from Jerusalem.(i can say that, right?)

You reset me I leave. Been grinding this character for a year buying boosters out the ass. The only thing keeping me here is the fact that I've spent to much into this character.

Then why in the world do you need a reset?

If the action is illegal you can sue regardless of the EULA

Parents didn't sign the EULA and anyone under 18 can not under any circumstances agree to a contract. So if a parents money was spent on an item, they are not bound by the EULA, and anyone under 18 was not capable of agreeing to the contract in the first place, so lawsuits could still happen, especially from parents.

Further a lawsuit does not require that you actually be entitled to one. I could sue you right now for some silly reason and we would both go to court. Yes I would lose the lawsuit (I hope.. I mean a lady sued and won cause her coffee was hot) but it would still (if you were CCP) cost you a fortune in money. Especially if you are CCP and have to get an American Lawyer and so fourth.

Also there may be other countries where the EULA wouldn't allow the removal of services that were bought.

So you can not make a contract that contains something illegal. So if the court believes that buying a skill point booster and then having those skills gained removed, then CCP would be liable regardless of the EULA.

Not to mention no one in their right mind would ever buy a Booster from CCP again if everything was just going to be reset.

CCP would have to essentially refund every single booster that people bought, which would cost them a ton of money in the long run since that is the only reasonable thing to spend AUR on anyways.

So you are telling me that if CCP resets the SP that you will knowingly buy boosters still? What if after you spend $2000 dollars they reset the game again? You can say good by to your 2k. Should have just bought a car.

A reset would be hilarious. Surprisingly enough, probably the most effective way to get a larger player base. I'll miss the millions upon millsion of SP i've worked for. Might shed half a tear even. But for some new meat on the field? You guys are great and all, we've just been having the same fight for a year now. closed beta players got another year on that. They keep track of all your boosters and such, I'm sure they can give em to you again.
