It depends if the rework will be the final version, if it is I wouldn't suspect them to post anything until Patch notes. Remember 1.8 will be at least March, so probably a week or so before it comes out. |

I really hope they keep the overheating bonuses for lasers on the Amarr assault and make other racial weaponry similarly synergistic with the racial assault suits. It is, IMO, the most interesting bonus type to have.

Yeah, and people have tried to draw attention to their issues since then as well.
I think we still need to give feedback on logistics/assault changes. I'm not sure if we'll see the results of our feedback before then (or at all).
The only thing about the Amarr Laser heat bonus on Assault that kinda bothers me is the limited utility in weapon scope compared to other races with their weapon lineups.
The Amarr have the fewest weapon types as of 1.8 (Cal: Rail, Sniper, Bolt, Magsec; Gal: Blaster, Ion, Plasma C, Shotgun; Min: Combat, Flaylock, MD, SMG; Amarr: Scrambler Rifle/Pistol, Laser Rifle).
A heat bonus reallly only benefits the Laser Rifle and Semi-Scram Rifle. I personally like the semi-auto Scrambler rifle a lot. However, if every other race possibly gets a benefit to 4 weapons, and the Amarr only gets a benefit to 1.5 (all Laser R, half of the Scram Rifles). It's a little awkward, and more so for the lack of weapon variety for the Amarr.
The bonus is great for people that main a semi-auto Scrambler, and might be useful if the Laser Rifle is fixed as well. I'm not sure if that would be too niche if the other races get some wonder-bonuses though. I DO think a RoF bonus to just lasers would be very backward though (I'm not sure how that would work in practice with the LR either).

Whoops, no, I didn't!
I think with more heat-dependent weapons introduced and an adjustment to the Assault Scrambler stats to make heat more of a factor, that bonus would work fine. I'd kind of like assurances that more weapons are in fact coming for the Amarr in the light/sidearm area though. We've yet to hear anything, not counting the nova-knife equivalent (which won't be laser-related I don't think). I've thought the Assault Scrambler needed to have more of a heat factor for awhile though (with whatever adjustments to RoF or damage to compensate). Good post!
