with 1.7 CCP have finally reach a sweet part with tank gameplay mechanic within dust with the revamp of how modules works and many other changes. including lowing the price resulting in vehicle combat are frequent and fun and their roles are being more defines that said. there are a few game braking element still plaguing the game right now and it became more apparent
-1st. Blasters the main tank turrets weather you can agree or not the Op against Infantries and almost completely useless against main rail guns and missiles
solution: get rid of the main blaster turret replace with a single shot main gun (anti tank) and give the tank driver control of the top small turret for anti infantry support
solution 2: buff up and increase the effectiveness of defense turrets around the maps and objective against vehicles . allow Logi/engineer to repair those turret at least it will give them sort of purpose instead of WP farm
-2nd. rail gun sniping it a sound strategy but an over use ones and game braking since most map were balance for those type of strategy. i mean when you have four tank sitting at their red line sniping inside the other team base and the no way for the other team to called their tank to counter attack not fun
solution: its kinda a map design problem mostly. or reduce the blast radius at long range
-3rd. Tank spamming in Ambush this titles already speak for itself. this game mode were already suck to begin with now adding vehicles it become a chaotic mess
solution 1:its simple get rid of all vehicles all together it does not need it. and while on the subject return Ambush to CQC map inside cities
solution 2: introducing a new game mode "column ambush" or "armored Ambush" a game mode specific for tanks and vehicles most of DUST maps are large and can support it. in that mode just turn off the limits of vehicles have 16vs16 of tank or dropshisp or LAV any combination going at each. it can be a single elimination to the last tank or capture their base. i don't think infantry would complain if they found their way into that match and i think its would be a great idea DUST would have its own world of tanks

Real issue that needs to be addressed (Sorry, but blasters and "spamming" aren't real issues): Active modules are too good; hardeners need a nerf to damage reduction, while nitrous and afterburners need longer cooldowns.

Never had a tank in the enemy redline shoot down my tank when I call it in... I have no idea what you're talking about there. I mostly run snipers with scrambler pistols, or my Mass driver to just annoy people. When running on foot I've never noticed tanks to be overly effective at killing in the least. I have to run across an area of about 10 meters or so of flat land in order to get killed by one.. :/
What kills me faster than tanks? Heavies with HMG. Anyone with a combat Rifle, Assault Rifle, etc... Because of that simple fact I believe you are just complaining because tanks are the largest target you can point a finger at. Many people complain about other things based on how visible the objects are, not how effective they are, and since tanks are incredibly visible, they realize when a tank kills them more than the other methods.
When I'm on foot, escaping a tank is the easiest thing one could do in an enclosed area, just run behind an object and they can no longer follow you. Run around a rock and if they follow they have to readjust their aim and driving direction, so you could run away behind them while they turn around looking.
