Biggest issue I've seen with this is the lack of repercussions for the LAV. Simply put an LAV that hits infantry should take a massive amount of damage. This is especially true when hitting the heavier suits. Heavy suit....
- 600-1000+ Armor
- 500+ Shields
- Built to support, control, and fire the biggest, baddest infantry weapons in the game
Essentially a brick #$%& house.
Yet somehow an LAV is able to employ hit and run tactics without seriously damaging itself? Totally unsat. Any LAV that smashes into a Heavy should be turned to scrap. Same general effect should be applied down the line to the lighter suits, with reduced damage based on the amount of armor/shields (although I'd apply less damage for the shields).
Side note; WP should be applied to both sides when a kill is registered. LAV hits heavy. Both are shredded. LAV pilot gets kill. Heavy gets xx WP for killing LAV, Pilot and passengers. (Same should be applied to tanks....Right now Jihad jeeping nets you WP for tank, pilot and passengers. However, tank pilot gets nothing unless he put rounds into the LAV before impact.) |

??? Doesn't kill? I've had it happen, with a sentinel, recently.
And isn't a good idea? It's fantastic. Follows actual physics where energy from a collision affects both objects. May make murder taxies cry, but i'm good with that. |

lavs should take damage, but not be destroyed. In the game of Inertia, regardless of what suit you use, the LAV wins. |

(although I'd personally apply less damage for the shields). Forumula should avoid exploding LAV's just because they tapped infantry while ramping up the damage at higher speeds. Side note; WP should be applied to both sides when a kill is registered. LAV hits heavy. Both are shredded. LAV pilot gets kill. Heavy gets xx WP for killing LAV, Pilot and passengers. To be honest here what i think : LAV should kill with turret not the car it self. - Disable Roadkill => If a ennemy is hit by a car a "shield" is activated (the same than when we're jumping of MCC). Making the ennemy unable to move for 1-2sec. The car lose 25% of the ennemy hp.
Then to keep LAV useful at offensive purpose : => Damage received by the gunner is reduced by 25%. => Driver won 50% of the gunner WP. => People in a car won 2hp/s armor and 2% ammo per second.
BUT to avoid HMG car which is impossible to counter.. => Driver/gunner that quit the vehicule can't shoot during 5 sec. (can still run/use equipements/melee) |

Tbh, I'd like to see LAV's have a ragdoll effect on infantry when they get hit. Knock the infantry over, do damage and leave them vulnerable to attacks for a few seconds whilst they're getting back up but not able to insta-kill infantry.
Imagine driving through a crowd and knocking them all down like bowling pins. That would truly be beautiful.
We want cake and tea.

That's silly.
Just add armor plating to the model of the LAV, in order to physically shrink the hitbox of the gunner.
If you really want LAVs to kill with the gun exclusively, you need to make the gun usable even when driving solo. |

I don't know about a LAV being destroyed from hitting a heavy, but there should be consequences. From a real world physics standpoint, the LAV experiences exactly the same forces as the infantry being hit. Suits, especially heavy suits, have quite a lot of inertia as well.
On another note, I did have the scene from Hellboy where he flips a car by punching its hood pop into my head. It might not be balanced, but I would so love to be able to melee a speeding LAV and have it flip over me. |

No.
You know why?
Because the suits aren't that heavily armored as you think. Read the descriptions sometime. The suits are made of composites and ceramics and crap like that. The vehicles...
... are built from steel, titanium, and depleted uranium.
WAY tougher than a suit.
Secondly, the suit bends and moves with the wearers body, thereby reducing any damage to the vehicle. The vehicle however is solid... like a chunk of steel. It does damage... not take it.
So stop your whining and learn to use your jump button and strafe stick... and SPRINT like the wind. |

Recently, I have decided to specialize in LAVs, and I have made a few observations and received information from the veteran LAV pilots such as Bojo the Mighty, XxVEXESxX, and X-eon, here is what I have seen....
- If you are not running the Methana, you are either really stupid, really brave, or just plain crazy due to the fact that the Methana has decent survivabilty, while the Saga can be taken down by one remote explosive followed up by gunfire from one or two people.
-You can't really get road-kill with the Methana, it accelerates too slow and if you run plates that is made even slower, while getting road-kill in the Saga is fairly simple.
- If a person is the least bit smart they can jump out of the way every time and you will never be able to hit them.
- If a squad is the least bit smart than an LAV gets blown up within less than ten seconds if it decides to go for more than kill.
- If running solo, or if your squad mates don't want to gun, then road-kill is your only way to get kills, as switching to the turret is a stupid idea when alone. This is especially true for people like me, as all my skill points are dumped into LAVs, and no-one from my corp ever wants to gun.
If you take away our ability to road-kill, then I guess we are going to have no choice but to Jihad-Jeep full time, which does not sound like fun to me. Plus, road-kill does take some skill, so let us be rewarded for that bit of skill.

Don't knock solo LAV-ing with the turret until you try it. I've been EXTREMELY successful with using the Railgun turret while going around solo. Agreed on everything else though, the LAV needs its ability to roadkill

I am aware that soloing on the turret can be very effective, as I have also done that, I just tend to fall prey to a rail rifle or HMG the minute they feel I am too much of a problem.
You also have a lot more experience then me so you probably are a lot quicker to change seats and get out of a hot zone when you need to then I am.
But in general unless someone is as skilled as you, it is probably a bad idea for them to run solo on the turret unless they put a decent range between them and the enemy.
Maybe one day you can teach me how to be pro while soloing on the turret, as that would be a useful skill for me to have.
