Recently, I have decided to specialize in LAVs, and I have made a few observations and received information from the veteran LAV pilots such as Bojo the Mighty, XxVEXESxX, and X-eon, here is what I have seen....
- If you are not running the Methana, you are either really stupid, really brave, or just plain crazy due to the fact that the Methana has decent survivabilty, while the Saga can be taken down by one remote explosive followed up by gunfire from one or two people.
-You can't really get road-kill with the Methana, it accelerates too slow and if you run plates that is made even slower, while getting road-kill in the Saga is fairly simple.
- If a person is the least bit smart they can jump out of the way every time and you will never be able to hit them.
- If a squad is the least bit smart than an LAV gets blown up within less than ten seconds if it decides to go for more than kill.
- If running solo, or if your squad mates don't want to gun, then road-kill is your only way to get kills, as switching to the turret is a stupid idea when alone. This is especially true for people like me, as all my skill points are dumped into LAVs, and no-one from my corp ever wants to gun.
If you take away our ability to road-kill, then I guess we are going to have no choice but to Jihad-Jeep full time, which does not sound like fun to me. Plus, road-kill does take some skill, so let us be rewarded for that bit of skill.

Don't knock solo LAV-ing with the turret until you try it. I've been EXTREMELY successful with using the Railgun turret while going around solo. Agreed on everything else though, the LAV needs its ability to roadkill
I am aware that soloing on the turret can be very effective, as I have also done that, I just tend to fall prey to a rail rifle or HMG the minute they feel I am too much of a problem.
You also have a lot more experience then me so you probably are a lot quicker to change seats and get out of a hot zone when you need to then I am.
But in general unless someone is as skilled as you, it is probably a bad idea for them to run solo on the turret unless they put a decent range between them and the enemy.
Maybe one day you can teach me how to be pro while soloing on the turret, as that would be a useful skill for me to have.
