I tried a LR all of once over 5 months ago so I don't remember the sound, but I have to say, I am still wary of the sound it makes today. In my squishy logi suit, I was taken out by a really good LR just 2 days ago. Surprised the crap out of me because I haven't seen anything on the field other than CR, RR and Duvolles. The sound of the weapons, the ambient sound of the game, the nanohive haze, the plasma flash on the assault rifle. Although the Assault rifle scope was annoying as hell, and the fact that there were only 4 suits (min logi, gal scout, cal assault or am heavy) was boring.
