Last night while being, again, spammed by tanks I decided to get my jeep on. Stacked it full of remotes and went hunting. While they zoomed around faster the my Subaru wrx I picked my lines and in I go, zoom. Bonk.. Nothing. Not even colission damage to my jeep. Multiple times, many perfect rear endings like driving in Quebec on a Friday night. And nothing but them casually moving away before I even could even jump out and manually detonate.
Did this change. Did tankers white and ***** that it was unfair til it got batted? Or was it just lag514? |

Rear-ending doesn't work very well if the tank is moving. You really need a side or frontal hit unless the tank is stationary. That's what people tell me anyway; I prefer planting my remotes while on foot. |

Word on the street is that the stickiness of remotes introduced in 1.7 was an unintentional error, which is why it was never included in the patch notes, and CCP may well be "fixing" them. I honestly hope they don't. Bomb buggies are most definitely....a blast.

While I don't care if they remove stickiness on friendly vehicles, doing so to enemy vehicles would really suck. REs are probably the best form of AV for non-heavies right now.
And the sticky aspect for anti-infantry is so much fun. |

I'll try to clear this up. I have killed probably 20-30 tanks since 1.7 dropped with jihad jeeps. Only reason I stopped was to work on the shinobi event. As it was tank city last night I hauled it back out. I'm well aware of good tankers knowing how to avoid me and good on them. But it is a target rich environment and a bunch of nubs.
SO. Last night I'm talking direct hits full speed on stationary tanks. Rear endings downhill on ones not moving and blasting away. Full on side impacts. Only reason I would jump out to try and set them off manually was that the colision did nothing. Not even colision damage. Was wierd |

IDK what you are on about.
I spent several matches last night rigging up jihad jeeps and then using the map to guide corpmates into creating fiery explosions and a rain of lolwannabe tanker tears (might've been a real taker or two in there as well).
Everytime he went out, I got at least 1 kill, several times 2.
Before anyone accuses me of exploiting my corpmates, I will have you know that they volunteered for the honor of being the "RE Express Delivery Courier" and even turned down compensation when I offered it.

Gotta have the mine in a spot that will be crushed on impact I think. Either that or hit the tank with enough speed to blow the car apart. If the tank isn't moving sometimes you'll bounce off, or if you don't have enough relative speed.

Yeah, in general, it is best to hit the NOS just before impact, though I have had it work with just a slight tap too.

Sorry to get your hopes up by accident, but no, they don't stick to infantry.
I more so meant that people haven't yet trained themselves to look on walls or ceilings for REs (just floors), so sticking them in odd but effective places can sometimes get them to go unnoticed.
Or sticking them in the driver's seat of unoccupied enemy LAVs as a nice surprise for the guy who got out to hack something |

Kinda reminds me of the old Proximity Mines on Goldeneye on the N64. My friends used to absolutely hate playing that with me if Prox were on the weapons list. I was notorious for placing them on lights, the lips of archways and above doors. Above doors was always a great place since them being on the other side of the door didn't trigger it, but when the door opened up.....
So much hate, so many tears....
