Why can a person spawn behind me while Im hacking an objective/CRU and shoot me in the head?
And why don't they, for example, spawn at a separate, but somewhat closeby area that is NOT right next to the terminal?
If they failed to protect it in the first place I don't understand why are you giving them a freebie when they spawn in. Even if I bring team mates you're still allowing them to get the drop on all of us. A person can spawn in at any time and there is no way to account for that possibility. Without the ability to choke the spawn point, like in other first person shooters, there really isn't any tactical way to take an objective other than outright zerging it.
Seems to me thats not really ideal, or fun.
Actually thats my nice way of saying that I'm pissed off right now because your game keeps putting me into a situation where there is literally nothing I can do other than roll the dice and hope I don't get shot in the back of a head by the enemy I already defeated not ten seconds ago. I'm actually thinking about starting a video series depicting many of these stupid situations that exist in Dust. |

Also, train up your hacking skills and bring friends to watch your back. Otherwise, I'll be introducing you to my Nova Knives. I'll be at your back before you are done hacking even if I spawn at the far end of the structure.
Hacking skills are maxed. It's irrelevant. A person can spawn behind me at any given time. Not everyone dies at the same moment, just as not everyone is set to spawn when it is convenient for me to hack.
And even if I bring team mates to watch my back they can't see the enemy before they've already opened fire. It's a disadvantageous situation and it's bad game design. |

If I were to run around in a dampened ninja assault fit, kill every single uplink in the surrounding area prior to making my assault on the objective, and then kill every single person defending the objective, I would still fail to take the objective because they would simply respawn right on top of me over and over again and shoot me in the back of the head.
If I'm capable of that much badassary, why should my efforts be met with failure? Because I didn't bring four other useless twats along with me to absorb bullets after I did all the work? If they are good enough to stop me then great! I am satisfied with failing in that manner, but why am I rewarded with failure for killing everybody and taking out all of their equipment in a tactical manner before hand?
That is complete and utter nonsense. |

Kierkegaard Soren wrote:Yeah, hacking is a two man job, unless your a Minnie scout with full hack bonuses I guess. I prefere it that way, tbh; it encourages team play and a good sense of timing. Try this, anyway: kill them at the spawn point, wait, kill them again. As a rule of thumb the first one takes 4 seconds or so to redeploy, the second spawn takes a full 10 to get back into the game. Now hack. All yours.
Thats garbage.
Team play should only be required when the level of competition demands it.
Individuals exist in this game too, and deserve to have roles the same as anybody. If I'm better than an entire squad I deserve to be rewarded appropriately.
As it stands I'm doing exactly what you just described. I'm NOT hacking the objective and helping my team, because my only reward for that is currently a bullet in the back of the head. Instead I'm going to just farm kills and let our MCC get destroyed. |

That is complete and utter nonsense. Because the game isn't called "Army of One"
It's not called "Hack objectives with two or more people" either.
Should I require two people to call in an LAV as well? Perhaps It should require two people to kill one person? Maybe the game should need two people to deploy a nanohive as well?
Or perhaps, just perhaps, some people actually happen to be better than you despite your banding up with other players. And perhaps among those, some of us are introverted enough that we don't feel there should be a 2 man requirement for every situation if we happen to actually be better than those around us.
Is it a team based game? Sure. Sure.
And I'll do my part. Over here. Away from the rest of you terrible people. |
