I feel like this is topic-worthy because I was discussing this with someone in a squad, and I mentioned how Caldari and Gallente heavies are going to resist every weapon in the game except lasers and rails, respectively. Then he made me realize I had completely forgotten about flux grenades.
I was actually considering specing into Caldari Sentinel. But if they don't resist flux grenades in any way, I'm not so sure. |

Yes, Flux Grenades will likely kill them nearly instantly.
(Speculation Time!) I can see Flux Grenades being nerfed in some way. Doing 1,500 damage to shields in a massive area might be a bit much now. Back in beta, every suit had different stats. The Basic Caldari Assault 1 was an Armor Tanker. It had like 150 Shields but nearly 300 Armor. Obviously, things have changed so Caldari Dropsuits focus on Shields almost exclusively so Fluxes are incredibly dangerous. With their huge area of effect and very low personal risk to the user if they are Gallente/Amarr, I could see Flux grenades getting toned down. There isn't really a counter to Armor like there is for Shields on the same level of strength as Flux grenades. |

It's not too bad as the cal sentinel will have a depleted shield recharge delay of one second. So they wont be on low health for long.

Suits that are coming in a couple weeks aren't going to annihilated by flux grenades because of hypothetical hardeners that are coming ??? That logic.
It been brought up, but the consensus is no one cares, **** was flipped at the dep shield delay listed at 1sec tho. Wait and see fluxes might get changed.

The Caldari Sentinel has a 1 second shield depleted recharge delay. People thought it was a typo, but unless I am delusion, somebody affiliated w/ CCP (Logobro?) clarified that it was not a typo.

Yeah but lasers do 20% extra to shields and Caldari sentinel only resists that by 10% |

No, it won't. It has a 25% blast resistance meaning flux grenades will do reduced damage. After that, there's proper damage drop-off now so it'll take a full hit from a flux to deplete shields (unless its an allotek, but cores do similarly horrible things to armour tanks) and even if the shields DO get depleted by the flux... They'll start regenerating again almost instantly. Also, flux grenades can't kill you.

So it's 4 seconds delay for damaged shields to regen normally, and 4+1 if they're depleted?
Seems reasonable.

Mostly true, but it'll still suck hard getting hit by one. You're getting 30-90HP back before the punishment begins if your opponent engaged right.
Which is as it should be, I think. Caldari heavy will be very deadly up close to people who don't pack fluxes, but it has a definite weakness. I imagine most people will still pack locus grenades in general, however, so the Caldari Sentinel may be mostly safe.
The new heavy suits are stacking up the way I thought they would, though. As far as I can tell, the pecking order would be:
Amarr = Gallente > Caldari > Minmatar
or possibly...
Amarr > Gallente > Caldari > Minmatar
Oh well. I'm probably skilling into all of them.

How is Amarr better for resisting Rail weapons with SHIELD ONLY.
They have more base armor than Gallente but Gallente armor RESISTS THINGS BETTER. |

Nope. 4 seconds for regen to kick in if the shields are damaged. 1 second for regen to kick in if they are depleted. They regenerate faster if they are depleted.
The Amarr Logistics suit used to do the same thing in Uprising 1.0 It took 4 seconds if they were depleted, and 7 seconds if they were damaged. I miss that, it was an interesting quirk...

Caldari Sentinels will have the highest amount of High Powered Slots. Considering the trend has been damage mods, they will do the most amount of damage with their guns though likely have the lowest life. They are going to be a monster with Forge Guns... |

Amarr bonus completely defangs Combat Rifles and HMG. The latter part combined with higher base HP means it will reliably beat down any other Heavy Frame toe-to-toe.
The shield bonus doesn't look like much at first glance, but that means Rail Rifles are only doing 80% damage to your shields. It isn't as good against RR as the Gallente Heavy is, but it's still better than Caldari and Minmatar.
So in short, Amarr Frame is second best at dealing with RR, and the best heavy frame for dealing with literally everything else, including other heavies. This leads me conclude it's the best fattie frame.
I say all this as someone who really wanted to specialize in Minmatar frames, but hey, I'm adaptable.

They should have a 25% resistance to FGs, not that it'll mater unless you can get your shield above 1,125 HP. Good luck.
