The mechanics used to be that spawning was completely random, people whined and they implented this "smart deploy" nonsense. Playing smart and using the tools provided to you as a team is not "fighting the game mechanics," you're expected to use and defend your spawn points as a squad. If you can't do that, you've lost the match, better luck next time, get good scrub, HTFU, etc, etc.
The old mechanics were pretty broken, but by your logic, once the first set of uplinks are compromised.. then GG game over as long as the reds don't destroy the links allowing spawning to take place elsewhere on the map? What if the only uplink left is a 20 spawn count, and the reds camp it, using "smart deploy" the game will not let you spawn anywhere else.. forcing you to spawn in a camped uplink to get ass raped. And with only 50 clones in most games, those 20 clones that can and WILL get spawn camped will certainly end the game for you.
Quote: Again, the people who are mopping you up have learned how to play the game. they set an uplink, work as a squad, and protect their spawns (while taking advantage of poor play from the enemy when they don't do the same), when they move locations or advance on a position they move their spawn point. It's pointless to whine that the "spawn of last resort" doesn't spawn you perfectly. If it did, what would be the point of having logis with uplinks in your squad? in Dust 514 you're expected to play smart, and play as a squad.
Your posts always reek of douchebag. And I think you misspelled tank spam. So again by your logic the game is won or lost in the first minute of setting up spawn locations. That's it, game over.. if you didn't get that part right, or maybe one of your uplinks landed in a glitched part of terrain, or the game spawned you next to red dots (this still happens), or any other scenario where you simply got pushed back and all uplinks fluxed.. then your answer is just wait 10 minutes and "it will all be over soon". typical elitist attitude.
Nobody here is crying or whining or asking for handouts... but when the "smart deploy" button simply picks some spawn point on the map that you could easily pick yourself, its not really adding a dynamic to the game. Deathmatch style game modes in FPS history have always had a somewhat "random" spawn ability, in addition to spawning on set positions setup by either players or fixed around the map. Dust does not... and that's bad. |

That is the crux of the problem. Once that first link is dropped, any "smart deploy" after that point will place you on that link.. Then it is up to the "smart players" to survive and find a new place to drop a link. Then you can choose which one you want.. or again smart deploy will pick one of the links (or CRU) for you. It still pidgeon holes you into choosing a fixed location, as opposed to a random one like most deathmatch modes currently in existence across the FPS genre.
This is the problem that I think the OP is attempting to address... yet the typical answer seems to be 'get gud" or something like that. strange |
