seriously- a nanhive nerf now?
it's like they spend all their time and energy reading rants on the forums and making "minor tweaks" to ever getting around to actually moving the game forward or connecting it with eve beyound the glorified scoreboard known as PC. this is a smoke and mirror to buy themselves more time while looking productive or just a stall tactic til the game fizzles out for good. 18 months later they are still "stuck in the terrain" and spinning their wheels giving us the illusion that something is being developed since they're working on their next nerf something must be happening so their doing some kind of job were lead to believe. /rant over

I guess CCP believes that the best way to make Logistics balanced was to make all of the Logistics suck at using all but one type of equipment.
And then you have all the butthurt people saying "That's what you get for being a slayer logi." or ""Karma's a b!tch ain't it?"
That is why in 1.8, only Heavies and other Logis are getting any ammo or reps from me.
(And yes, I include Commandos when I say heavies)

The equipment nerf is to make a clear difference between each Logistics. By reducing the effect of Nano Hives, Spawn Uplinks, and Repair Tools, they are able to make it very obvious which Logistics suit is better in a specific regard. Caldari is going to be better at dropping Nano Hives (more in each Hive and gives out more, faster), the Amarr is going to be better at getting troops into location (more uses per Spawn Pad and faster respawn rates), and Minmatar will focus on the repair tool (longer range and more healed per second). |

They should also nerf the ROF on the rifles as well. That way the only way to be even slightly effective with the rifle is to completely max out your Assault skills.
And nerf the base HP on the Sentinels so that you have the same or slightly better performance as before, but only when you max out your Sentinel skill.
Seriously. What idiot over by Shanghai comes up with these ideas?

i guess i should have looked into it more because that doesn't sound so bad if their differentiating the suits more.. my real underlying angst is i can't fund dropshipping and just waiting for the day they add an economy to this game where i could fund my merc with grinding from my EVE pilot. it would actually make me play EVE again

The thing I don't understand with this logic from the playerbase is that everyone, Logis and other classes, will be using the same damn equipment...So by generalization, Logis won't "suck at using" most equipment. They'll be specialized at a certain equipment, and hopefully a certain set of equipment in the future. I'm pretty sure the idea for all of this was to make equipment and Logis balanced. Although everyone was excited about the Logi stats and the potential for the combination with the current equipment stats, it would've really made things...hectic.
Logis that could rep heavies without having to risk their lives at all, Scanners that could scan you even longer than the OP scanners we have right now, Uplinks that take only 1 second to spawn in...Nanohives wouldn't have matter imo except for grenade spam. It's all essentially to have a balance while making the bonuses actually be worth it. :/ There's no need to skill into every Logistics suit. Skill into the race which has the equipment that you use the most. I'm going to continue to skill into the Gallente Logistics because I want the Scanner at it's best but I'll probably add on other used equipment as well.

Kind of lame? Possibly, but it actually makes things different.
The only thing changing is all the equipment is getting nerfed. Training to level 5 makes your specific equipment the same as it is now. Zero net gain (for logis) and everyone suffers for it. I'm betting they will also drop Logi CPU/PG by 25% also to go with our '25%' reduction to equipment. |

Silly logic.
Killing is the name of the game.
All frames of suits use rifles. If you make it so that you have to skill into the Assault classes to be back up to the current with rifles, you're hurting everyone without fixing much...
And honestly why would nerfing the Sentinels make sense?
know you're trying to raise a point but you're using illogical ideas as comparison for a logical idea. You might not like it but it actually makes a lot of sense why they did the equipment and Logis like they have done in those stats.

Wow, so much negativity in this thread.
I think it is a great idea:
All equipment gets nerfed, well almost all, come on think about it.
Need something scanned? Who you gonna call? Need a nanohive? Who you gonna call? Need some armor repaired? Who you gonna call? Need to spawn in some where? Who's link you gonna use?
Now, loners in assaults and scouts suits will have will have enough ammo/repair nanohoves for themselves, but will be far more reluctant to want to share. You didn't bring ammo and you need some, find a call logi. He'll probably have two or three different kinds.
This will cut down on equipment spam quite a bit, which is out of hand as it is now, if for no other reason than, many of these equipments will not last nearly as long.
The scanner nerf was over due. Same with the uplink nerf. Way to much spaming going on with both of these. These things will be far more tactical now.
The repair tool will still be effective. It'll just be far more effective in the hands of a Min logi.
Yah, I'm good with these changes. My Gal logie will have a focused roll (no pun intended): "find the enemy". Carrying a proto injector will me the best way to go for me now. I'll be planting more explosives on objectives. And will probably be a little stingy with my allotek.
I'm not seeing a problem here.

It's quite simple really, buffing equipment via the new Logi bonuses would make it OP, but giving Logi suits equipment bonuses is just common sense and an all round good balance choice - so how do you both have you cake and eat it? Nerf equipment so that the you can have the Logi bonuses without creating OP equipment such as totally unavoidable scanners. |

Is killing the name of the game? The game rewards support and healing far more than it does 'slaying'
Assaults, Scouts, and Commandos also use equipment. I guess that means that making it to where you have to skill into the Logistics class to be back with the current equipment would also be hurting everyone without fixing much
I said nerf the Sentinels because of their resistance bonus against certain weapons. This way, they can yield the same (or better) battlefield performance as before against said weapons, but only when they max out their skill.
It also makes a lot of sense as to why they nerfed Flaylock Pistols. Making sense doesn't make it good.
But most people won't need to concern themselves anyways. They'll just have to find someone else to get reps an ammo.
