A little consistency and forethought from the game developers would help the community from demanding actions like respecs and refunds. Why is it ok for CCP to change the game every month but the community has to live with their own decisions? Even decisions made prior to radical changes.
Blindly supporting change for one party and blatantly opposing it for another is hypocrisy. If the nay sayers examine the true facts instead of parroting New Eden dogma perhaps they will realize their foolishness.
I fully believe that CCP is on a solid "NO" to respecs ever since beta was left behind. The thing in 1.7 for vehicles wasn't a respec, it was a skillpoint REFUND for skills that no longer exist. Hence they are still able to claim no respecs since the game went live.
This is fine...
However I do believe that to make both parties happy (do to mistake on both sides), that they allow us to remedy the errors ourselves by letting us choose to have a respec for aurum. I started a thread to discuss this option here and ask all of you to post your thoughts there so CCP can know them:

Vehicle users got a respec after CCP rewrote our entire core mechanics and heavily modified how our skill tree works at a base level, but DIDN'T get respecs when CCP changed bonuses provided by several of the skills involved in the tree. There was a point where, right after a respec, several vehicle-related skills had incorrect descriptions, and people skilled into them for benefits which weren't actually provided - those people WERE given respecs because the description didn't match what we had skilled into. Oddly, when people skill into something then it changes later, CCP don't offer the same option.
It's strange, but the logic behind respecs or lack thereof HAS been pretty consistent ever since "release" (and I use that term very loosely while the game is clearly still in beta according to anyone that isn't CCP). |

the entire vehicle tree was refunded along with the skills that were removed. Are we really down to arguing symantics? I care nothing for what you call it. There was an independent poll in G/D where 12 people opposed a respec. I don't believe on catering to the masses. I do believe in being able to refresh our choices when a change in structure warrants it. After evaluating what Dust has become in the last year I feel the changes since Uprising warrant a respec. That said when uprising dropped we got a respec it did not hurt the game at all. We got another shortly after, again no major problems. So past experience says it will be ok.
