I'd like to take a holiday to the Philippines and take part in a car road tour through Europe, but like CCP and Jets, I'll probably keep putting it off and never get round to doing it. There's no point in adding jets until the maps are much larger, otherwise you'll simply be turning in a circle the entire time. Maps can't get significantly bigger until we can get lots of players each match. We can't get huge player counts until DUST is on the PS4 (or equivalent) due to performance.
There is so much more important sh*t to do right now that I really don't expect to see these for at least another year or two. Priorities.

Actually if you look back at older video's showing footage I believe from Alpha or closed Beta you'll find they already are in game just not useable by us. They have had jets over a year now yet we can't use them kinda like the many things that we will likely never see again IE proto tanks, Logi LAV's, Jets and well pretty much anything else you can think of that they have taken back to and I quote "Be Back Soon TM"

Don't know why some people hate it? I love it, which is part of why Assault Horizon pissed me off. I still play 04 and 5 on occasion. I'm really hoping they work out a better free-to-play model for Infinity and release it sometime this year. That'll give me something to tide myself over until I can really fly in Dust.

I think fighters will greatly help towards achieving balance.
Tone down railguns to make them balanced. This means that they won't be as effective against ADS as they are currently.
Fighters will become main counter to ADS.
Fighters will be an additional counter to redline rail tanks, being able to penetrate deeper into the redline and provide quick bursts of damage.

But ... perfect balance would mean, that all PS3 gamers have to use the same DS3 control and CCP has to stop support M/K

I just realize there's far more pressing issues right now, as you guys are clearly already aware of. I can wait. I've been waiting for a real Ace Combat game ever since that trasheap Assault Horizon, and that's probably going to be longer in coming than waiting for Fighters in Dust, given how the Beta for Ace Combat Infinity went. I'm old school Ace Combat fan too. If you want to fly in EVE universe, you should try EVE: Vakyrie witch will come at the end of this year. I'm waiting for it too!

Did you ever play Warhawk?
Its the best balanced game I've ever played, even the tanks vs the jeeps were perfectly balanced.
Kind of way more easy than Dust balancing though, we're talking about 8 handguns and 4 vehicles, turrets and 8 Hawk weapon.
One might claim that the Hawks were too good, or even OP, but then again, the name of the game.....

Dust is coming along great I'm not quite sure what you're doing with your Laser Rifle but I have only level one operation and absolutely MELT faces within its optimal still. You must be doing something wrong. It works exactly the same as laser weaponry works in Eve. Optimal is super far, does more damage over time, complete garbage in CQC. Works as intended if you ask me. Its a LONG range weapon that works very well at LONG ranges.
I'm very interested in what your idea would be to put in place of the red line if it were to be removed. The red line is there for a reason, to give a safe place to spawn if your team is being absolutely wrecked. You are just as capable of shooting out of your red line at enemies as they are at shooting you. I don't see the big problem here. Red line snipers? Cool, go ahead and get in a good spot and pop them in the face. Red line rail tanks? Cool, use a militia tank and get free ISKies and WP for blowing them up. Sure its a very ANNOYING issue but definitely not something that impacts the game so greatly that everything needs to be dropped and a red line rework needs to be put into place. Rendering, lag, game freezes/crashes/fatal errors, finished content, etc. all seem like more prominent problems than a few annoying KDR padders sitting in their red line. |

More common sense, less QQ. |

If you look in the bottom left hand corner of your screen, next to your EHP HUD, there is Weapon Efficiency stats, as well as how far away the target is, that pop up when you aim at someone. Those can be used to figure out whether or not an enemy is within your optimal. I use them all the time. If its below 60% efficient I won't engage a target. |
