Even against a shield tank, that thing rips right through you because its just pelts you instantly. The range could use a major nerf. It shouldn't out DPS a AR past 50m. More fall off is needed.
There are 7 shield killing weapons.
But the Rail Rifle is still more of a problem, as it is a no skill weapon. Just hold down the trigger and spray 55 damage? A 5yr old could do that.
But, CCP is trying to take skill out of the game, so it doesn't really matter. They want it to be CoD, because CoD makes money... DUST 514 has proven not to.

I wish the ScrR was garbage but it clearly isn't, and the AR just isn't the king it once was but still far from garbage.
There are 6 infantry shield killers ingame, vs 9 infantry armor killers.
AR, SHOTGUN, SCR, LASER, SCP, ION PISTOL
Out or these the only one not out classed is the SCR, the AR is outclassed by the RR and the CR and the SCR thus it is obsolete, the laser rifle and shotgun are broken as hell, the SCP is a novelty weapon and the ion pistol has the smallest dps of all the pistols and it's charge shot has an overheat cooldown meaning using the charge shot will keep you from switching weapons (probably) so it's probably going to be useless.
There are 9 armor killers
RR, CR, Massdriver, flaylock, sniper rifle, SMG, Magsec SMG, bolt pistol.
RR and CR are the best guns right now, the RR being the best omni weapon and having the best DPS distribution out of all the guns due to its range the CR comes second. Thales and Charges with damage mods are insta-win buttons, the magsec boasts the same range as a AR but slightly lower DPS it's basically a cheap AR that costs half the price, the bolt pistol does a whopping 150 per shot fully automatic and has the range of a AR. Because armor is slow all of these weapons just build upon their bonuses to obliterate armor. The SMG flaylock and MD duck so they don't count.
This leaves a total of 1 effective and 1 semi effective shield killer. And 5 effective armor killers.
