GÇ£So, this contract. How much does it give us?GÇ¥ Asked the middle-aged solider. His squad formed around him, transferring into battle. It was Mac, the leader GÇ£Who cares? Lets just wipe the field with these cracker-jacks and move onto the next oneGÇ¥ Answered one of his squad. .His suit weighted down with equipment and supplies for his squad mates. GÇ£Alright, alright, letGÇÖs just get this over with. Man, I love coming here to high-security space to demoralize these recruits. LetGÇÖs lock nGÇÖ load!GÇ¥ With a shout, the mercs began there jog onto the field. Before they knew it, enemy soldiers starting taking shots at them, peppering their shields. GÇ£Bingo, found you! Prepare to die, punk!GÇ¥ The merc unleashed a volley of fire from his Assault Rifle that melted the enemy soldierGÇÖs shields, and chopped into his armor. He was dead, the enemy didnGÇÖt even have a chance to realize his error. GÇ£Behind you, Mac!GÇ¥ One of his squad yelled to him just as another enemy mercenary came running up to him. Mac, turned and fired. The enemy merc dropped dead and slid to the base of MacGÇÖs feet. GÇ£In the name of the Empress, Charlie! DonGÇÖt let someone sneak up on me like that again! Get that fuckinGÇÖ scanner out, thatGÇÖs an order!GÇ¥ GÇ£Roger!GÇ¥ Charlie replied. As his scanner opened up with a high pitched squeak, the HUD filled up with orange. GÇ£Good job, Charlie. Now lets lay waste to these sons of bitches!GÇ¥ The field erupted with the din of battle. Explosions. Plasma rounds sputtering. The last cries of wounded mercs eroding on the battlefield. Mac just picked out the next orange dot on his visor display, turned, aimed, shot, killed. Then the next. His barrel of his gun was glowing red. The smell of burnt plasma rounds lingered around him and his squads.
Mac just kept shooting and shooting. The chamber of his firearm smoking. His brilliantly designed and customized weapon leveling all in front of him. Just then, a scan picked up behind him. It was getting closer and closer. Heading in a straight line right at him. By the time he turned around, the solo enemy merc was right on top of him. The saboteur began to shoot frantically at Mac. Mac jumped backwards, shooting off the last of his plasma rounds into the enemyGÇÖs chest. GÇ£Not you again. Chump, get out of here!GÇ¥ Mac yelled at the bleeding clone on the ground lying there motionless. The enemyGÇÖs attempt at revenge was futile and came up short. GÇ£Charlie, drop me some ammo, that last sneak attack put me out!GÇ¥ Mac barked. GÇ£WeGÇÖre getting them, slowly but surely. LetGÇÖs hold this position and keep picking them off.GÇ¥ Charlie squawked over their communication port. The enemy was out matched for sure. MacGÇÖs squad of six well trained, well fitted mercenaries were no match for the recruits they were laying to waste on the field. No advance to their position was proving successful by the enemy. CharlieGÇÖs scanner was just to powerful; alerting every enemyGÇÖs position on the field. They couldnGÇÖt hide.
Mac briefly chuckled to himself. Gloating in his self-confidence. When his concentration was returned yet again by a scanned enemy behind him. Not you again. DonGÇÖt you learn? Mac thought to himself. He almost begrudgingly turned around to simply shoot the fresh mercenary when he was struck by the sight of two red eyes staring into him. They almost seemed to stare through him. Mac began to fire, but the red eyes never took there gaze off of him. Then the red eyes leapt into the air and once he landed starting side-stepping and firing back at Mac. GÇ£Whoa!GÇ¥ Mac said to himself. He saved his ammunition and stopped firing for just a moment. Enough pause for him to get his aim back on track. He locked onto the red eyed merc again, only this time the red-eyed merc switched directions and side stepped backwards, or maybe a little to the right. It was all so quick that Mac couldnGÇÖt tell. He didnGÇÖt have time or focus to discern, his magazine was running dry. Mac was fine, the other merc didnGÇÖt even get his shield energy to deplete. Mac lined up his shot again, but just as he began to pull the trigger, the enemy merc leapt to the left into a wall and as soon as he landed, he back peddled then sprinted forward off the wall at an angle. It was all so fast, MacGÇÖs mind was playing catch-up. MacGÇÖs mind also didnGÇÖt realize that he was in a losing gun battle. And now panic started to set in. He gritted his teeth and began to open fare at the red-eyed merc a third time. The red-eyed merc dance in the rounds and lifting his gun right at

Kudos to you for actually integrating it into a story. I'm usually one to separate writing from gameplay, since gameplay is ridiculous and arcade-y, while the reality behind it would be more realistic and tactical.
You managed to make it a part of the story pretty nicely though.
I kind of want to start writing about real-life things in this game. real characters, real events, real lore from the multiplayer side. Do a series on the DJINNS or Imperfects, etc.
The playerbase itself already has such a rich history.

For example God's Architect has a beautiful series to historically accurate accounts of PC battles.
I'm getting it. I'm not much of a writer. I haven't written anything in many years. But I'll get it. I want something for the kiddies to learn about in the years to come.
