First I would like to thank you guys who are working on the dropsuit rebalance the hit points and slot configuration looks alot like the way the factions build their ships in EVE however their is one thing bothering me about the sentinel suits is that the Gallente is getting 2 armor resistance bonuses when the Amarr suits should be so here is a list of eve ships that get armor resistance bonuses.
The Amarr ships Punisher 4% bonus to armor resistances per level Vengeance 4% bonus to armor resistances per level Malediction 4% bonus to armor resistances per level Maller 4% bonus to armor resistances per level Sacrilege 4% bonus to all armor resistances per level Devoter 4% bonus to all armor resistances per level Prophecy 4% bonus to all armor resistances per level Absolution 4% bonus to all armor resistances per level Damnation 4% bonus to all armor resistances per level Abaddon 4% bonus to all armor resistances per level
The Gallente ship Phobos 4% bonus to all armor resistances per level
So I ask you why do the Gallente get 2 armor resistance bonuses?

Because in Dust, unlike eve, Amarr are dual tankers (shields and armor, with a heavier tilt toward armor), whereas gallente are the pure armor tankers.
Lore-wise I dont know why this is, but it is, what it is. |

if you take a look at the stats on the new suits the amarr now have the highest armor hit points so they almost got it right.
they could take the free armor rep off the gallente suits and put it on the amarr since they want to still be kinda backwards

We'll have to see how it works out first and if any refinements are needed later on down the line. That's all I can say considering I have no skills in heavy use.
OK, CCP. When are knives finally going to be improved?

so why do the gallente sentinel get 2 armor resistance bonuses when its clearly not their style?
and I thought that every one make it clear that free armor reps are a bad idea how about insted of free armor repairing on suits you give them a equipment bonus to armor repair modules say 20% for all but scout and a 37.5% for the scout suit this would be fair has it would require at least 1 armor rep to get the current bonus you are just giving them.
and then give the amarr suits a 20% armor resistance bonus built in.
and these sentinel bonuses need to be changed to just: hybrid weapon damage -all rail and blasters laser weapon damge all laser types projectile weapon damge all projectile types splash damage.
I could give you 10 reason why the Dust team cant get the Amarr tank style right but they are all out of care.

the gallente are armor tankers, but with more repair rate than armor hp. im sure you know this. i have a feeling the sp perks came out before the amarr armor hp tweaks. anyways, all sentinels should get resistances of some sort, since they are heavy weapons suits, and heavy weapons people in games are usually durable as well as deadly. all sentinels get 2 resistance perks on something.

also, the minmatar sentinal is just as slow as the other sentinals and doesn't have any recuperative ability. no armor reps, or shield recovery. minmatar are supposed to have the highest shield regen, and shortest depletion delay in the game. (to compensate for the low ehp).
And dnt say anything about speed. Speed among suits is balanced by stamina among suits. minmatar has the highest speed, but lowest stamina. amar is opposite.

your examples are bad, as they don't explain why those resistances are important for the amarr. if anything you should be arguing that gallente should get an active armour rep bonus (oops) which they will in the form of an inherent armour rep point on every suit. |

The passive armor rep absolutely doesn't belong in New Eden, but in DUST, managing an active armor rep on a suit could be a pain in the ass.
Then you've got stuff like D Legendary going on about Minmatar suits being fastest, but that it doesn't matter because they have the lowest stamina. That's completely wrong. On all the 1.8 suits that CCP have posted stats for (Hint; all of them), the Minmatar have the 2nd highest stamina and either 1st or 2nd fastest recharge.
This thread is full of misconceptions.

the Amarr have aways had the highest stamina amount and regen. but the minmatar have always been faster.
in theory, the Amarr should be able to get pretty far wih all that stamina, but the Mimatar's speed should allow it to go just as far as an Amarr, but in a faster time. the speed makes them cover distance faster, making them not need as much stamina to go the distance Amarr can go.

In the devblog the Minmatar have highest speed and highest stamina regen rate now. Amarr have the highest stamina and second best recharge but also lowest speed. |
