DUST Search - Has anyone here read Dune, by Frank Herbert?

I agree Arck, there is so much wisdom in the book; from the principles of leading a people, characteristics of a great leader to the simple power of love.

I can tell you right now that if you enjoyed the first book, the rest of the series will blow your mind. As I said I finished Children of Dune last night, I'm starting God Emperor of Dune quite soon

Just last night I finished the 3rd book and am starting the 4th. It first started with the visuals of Chromosome; the red dusty landscape couldnt help but paint a picture of Arrakis in my mind. Now its Ornithopters flying everywhere (Dropships), Fremen Death Commandos slicing through personal shield generators (Minjas) and so much more! I even started to play the Meta-game and create the persona that is 1st Lieutenant Tiberius according to, or inspired by, things that I've read in the series. Nerd-Rant over lol (for the time-being) So, can anyone in the Dust community relate to this? The Sinwarden

One of the major reasons I love Imperial, and religious groups in Sci Fi games and films. 40k I am an Imperial man through and through. It happened somewhere between the recasting of beloved protagonist as 'Jabba the Hutt' and the reincarnation / re-reincarnation of every soul so meticulously groomed and presumably forever lost. The more I think about it, the more I change my mind. Don't read the kid's work. As for the movies ... do yourself a favor and read the original first. Look for the Frank behind the Hebert.

Your get the birth of all your favorite houses and characters. And the machine campaign is nothing short of amazing. Yes the writing is not as great but they did use frank's notes on the universe he created. And to find out what the Honored Martar were running from was a perfect ending. Now the Paul book was just ok and not real ain't to the story arc. So if your a fan and haven't read the others there is 7 more books of interstellar adventure.
