I often find it hard to gauge the charge of weapons since the charge of a weapon is represented in the bottom right side of the screen, so I have to take my eyes of a target to look at the bottom right of my screen. This is a bad design in my opinion. This makes using a forge gun kind of annoying for me since I frequently overestimate the charge.
A solution would be to give fully charged weapon a distinctive visual effect, and a distinct sound as well. I got the idea from Mass Effect 3's charge shot arc pistol; when fully charged, the sound changes, and their is a distinctive glow (click here for video).

There's also the option of putting a small circular charge indicator around the aiming reticle. That's how I'd like to see it.

Mental count. If you don't know, on your "off day", go to a location by yourself and start gauging it.
Like the RR, I know when to charge it for when those folks like to hide around corners and try to use the charge factor of my RR against me.

This please for sure. Keeping my eyes on target yet being able to see vital information is key. Especially with things like the forge gun. |

It is the only downside the RR has what so ever. It is the only way to overcome RR users I find yet like you say you can work around this and still make it work for you in CQC. I find this wrong considering it is meant to be a long range rifle not a CQC blaster. |

I agree the charge location is in the incorect part of the screen, I'd like to see a visual on the gun, or on the reticle.
The thing that gets me is when using the charge, that little orange blip on the charge bar, bad bad choice of colour, exactly the same tone as the enemy monobrows

I find this wrong considering it is meant to be a long range rifle not a CQC blaster. It's meant to be challenging to use in CQC, and also less effective in CQC than any other rifle (if only marginally). That doesn't mean it's supposed to be useless in CQC. It's still a rifle, and all the rifles will have a very similar profile relative to other types of weapons, meaning the advantages/disadvantages between the four of them will be very slight and will mostly depend on how you use them.

The fact that it's still just as effective as the CQC rifle (It is, I used it and it's equal if not better to the AR) while still having more range is just absurd.
There is no reason to use the AR when rifles like the RR exist.
Shield regeneration bonus for Gallente Assault is about as useful as Sharpshooter for Nova Knives.

That's my point too. Ok maybe it can be argued that the combat rifle, specifically the ACR can outperform the RR in close quarters however the blaster rifle (AR) is meant to be the top dog for close range fights. At least according to EVE lore. |

There should be an option to have most of the HUD centered on the screen. Shield and Armor, ammo, heat, charge, 'nades left, etc.

I like the idea of HUD options.
As for gauging, that comes with time and practice.
We can pickle that.

Although, it would probably be a better idea if this was implemented as an option; as choice is always best. (Well that, and it may be annoying to a few.)
I know that ring was really helpful when aiming Railgun Turrets.
Kill 1 and 7 more come right back.
Makes you wonder if tankers are like zombies.
Although, that would explain a lot.

That's what makes me scratch my head. If a merc learns his rifle in and out, then yes, what would seem like a cause for adjustment of stats or the OP factor, is just a example of a user who knows his rifle through and through.

Surprised some actually appose this. A fully charged gun should look and sound different than one that isn't. Surprised this hasn't been moved the the correct section already.

Do it, I shouldn't have to memorize and guess when a weapon is fully charged.
