I've looked through the forums in seach of anyone who has touched up on this issue, anyone else, specifically other Pilots, notice this change?

Sadly our base speed is slower than tanks boosted. Were still the fastest thing in game when we use afterburners.

Dropship speed can't really be measured. Normal dropships are really fast, assault are even more so.

It could be if we ever got an instrument cluster in the HUD. Pitch/Roll/Yaw, Altitude and Airspeed. Would be nice, right?

well, in a straight line over open terrain i suppose they might be, but when you consider that they get slowed down by broken terrain and obstacles we're still the fastest things out there.

you have obviously never flew one of those dropships sideways or upside down.... those buggers are quick when you have gravity working for you :P |

I have been flying since Beta, the base speed used to be 2500, it has been that way for a pretty fair amount of time, they have been slowed down greatly, from 2500 to 200 in Km/s (correct me if i am wrong on the system they use to measure the speed, if not Km/h)
the speed overall has been decreased in ignition and acceleration and take off, base speed is slower then a tank, though yes, it can be faster -If- gravity is used, but this shouldn't have been the case, before the patch dropships had a greater base speed and didn't have extremely low maneuverability, my question is, how many pilots and pilots since beta noticed this drastic change?

(the trick to flying "upside down" on purpose is to point your nose strait down and then a little bit further tipping your ass end in front of you, you will gain momentum as you fall but can still quickly regain your foward motionand not lose control slamming into the ground, it alows you to gain insane speeds even without an afterburner)
I know the mechanics of flight in Dust quite well, but the form of controlling the dropship was never the problem. |
