This isn't a matter of some things getting nerfed and some things getting buffed, this is a matter of nearly everything getting completely changed all together.

Ya, for the 1.8. Then we'll go ahead and set up our characters under the new build. Then CCP will just change everything again.. My point is that this will never end. The will make major changes for 1.8, then all the builds from 1.81 to 1.89 will keep nerfing this and buffing that... Then the 1.9 build will come, and everything will change... I think it would be in CCP's best interest to STOP changing everything, and just fix the problems!

Fixes require change, and one must make changes in order to bring about change.

Besides, it's not the 'fixes' that merit the respec per say, its that currently we have racial gaps and placeholder bonuses that always were intended to be filled and replaced respectfully.

I understand what you're getting at but an opt-out system is purely superficial. I suppose yes you'll be a little inconvenienced but the amount of additional work is really marginal. Besides I think about 90% of the community probably has a few skills points in places they don't want them and would not complain if they could move them around a bit.

I think Pokey is got the gist of this with the updated racial kit coming online. I also suspect he's on the mark with the comment there is something, even a small something, that most folks would change in some way if given a respec. I'm actually very happy with my SP allotment at the moment but there are a couple small areas that I would like to rework. Sacha, your concern is pretty valid as well...The nerf/buff & change cycle does get pretty frustrating when you start investing SP...minimal or suble changes would be much more preferable. For many people it's really not about FOTM investment; it's legitimately trying to skill into a racial kit setup or something that supports a given playstyle.
