I second this.
Even setting one of the load out equipment slots to be the slot that switches with your primary weapon would be a significant improvement.
As a mouse user, I frequently hold down the scroll wheel button to select equipment, only to slightly roll the wheel while releasing the button, so that the equipment I've just selected is immediately replaced by my weapon. In friendly fire situations where I'm trying to rapidly switch to my rep tool to repair someone low on armor, hilarity ensues. Please change this horrible control layout, or give us the ability to disable the "weapons switch" on suits that lack a secondary weapon.
Alternative solution: let the scroll wheel scroll through our weapon and equipment list, instead of always switching logis to their primary weapon.
Please. This would eliminate the single most frustrating thing about running a logi. |

there was a tap system in beta but it was removed .......I don't know why I use to use it all the time to switch when playing Logi must have been some troll that got it removed |

I believe this was removed due to 3+ equipment slots needing to be tapped through to find your rifle/smg/nova knives/MD and it also meant it wasn't actually quicker to select the equipment you want. A slight modification to this could be that it was a selected item on the fit that it always switched to, such as REs or a Rep Tool (selectable in the fitting screen not on the battlefield fool!). This would make it both useful and efficient.

I would like to see:
Tapping R2 should swap between A) your primary weapon and B) Your sidearm if you have one. Otherwise the equipment you were last holding.
I suspect this is not the default because it's pretty easy to accidentally press R2 which would screw you up if you are in combat.
So if you added such a feature I would like to also have an enable/disable checkbox in Options/Controls. |

A loop would permit logies to scroll past our last equipment slot, and inadvertently re-equip our primary weapon, repeating the current design's weakness.

Can't say I've ever wanted this nor would I make use of it, my muscle memory for selecting my gear by holding R2 is so engrained now that I likely wont change.
However if you guys want it, I see no downside. +1

Agreed every now and then I miss the desired equipment and shoot my heavy lol it would be nice to tap and get healin stick out |

another idea if not posted would be that one of the equipment slots is paired with the side arm slot box in fittings... or better yet one is moved to the location where the sidearm is not on for most logis (amarr aside).
so R2 would then fast swap between your weapon and whatever is in the sidearm support/equipment slot.
far as i can see it would only require a few lines of code to tell the system.. tap R2 and it goes to item "a" (rep tool) tap again and reverts to weapon.
would make repping teammates and then quick change to defend a breeze. hmm classifying the repair tool as sidearm would also work.
just options to make fast switching better for us logi |
