I personally have already taken every Gallente weapon and suit at least to level 3, and the only other weapons I've skilled into are the two other hybrid light weapons, and my mass driver, but everyone needs a guilty pleasure. Now there are finally Gallente /hybrid sidearms as well. I plan on speccing into both of the Gallente heavy suits and depending on Gallente Assault bonus will spend the rest of my SP for suits only taking Gallente suits to proto. Anyone else plan on doing something similar? Not taking vehicles into account there will be a lot more racial content balance. Where is my Gallente sidearm? SoonGäó514

If there was a respec I'd probably take it out and put it into Gallente gear but I won't be heartbroken if I can't, I'd probably want to take all my SP out of the MD and put it into the Ion pistol but there is no need for a weapon respec and so it's easier to live with non Gallente things, even if I hardly ever use them, or at least not in PC. By the way my fellow Gallente we also do in fact use railguns as well. Just not nearly as much as blasters. Railguns are usually fitted to the slower drone boats to keep their distance while letting the drones do the heavy lifting. So Hybrid weapons on general are fair game to the Gallente. However, I'm not sure about the Caldari never having flown one of their ships but I would imagine the same thing simply because lore wise we were one faction then the Caldari wanted to do their own thing. ...It would also make some sense as to why Caldari and Gallente Vehicles in DUST look more similar to each other than Amarr and Minmatar vehicles, which have a completely different design philosophy . tl;dr: Gallente can also use railguns and stay within lore, possibly Caldari as well but I'm not sure. Gallente and Caldari were once one and that's probably why our vehicles look very similar to each other in DUST. P.S. What's the deal with uplinks, for a while they had Amarr company names at prototype level but now it's all Alotek, a Gallente company. It could go either way with Amarr and Gallente being the two most technologically advanced empires out of the four playable factions.

Haven't decided if I'm going to go gallant heavy. I just know that I'm not going scout unless my aversion to being squishy ends somehow. Definiety wanting that Ion Pistol gallente sidearm. Hoping it will be good enough to compliment carrying a plasma cannon (which I also hope gets fixed so the charges actually register and hit the target). They share shield skills, so at least I have that as common ground. As I played more, I started to love the versatility in the slot layout of Minmatar suits, particularly the logi and from the way things are looking, the upcoming sentinel. I can fit them for high shields and mobility if I'm going to be on my own, I can fit them with plates if I'm going to squad up with logis. IF there is a respec, I don't know if I'm going to put any points back into Caldari suits, beyond maybe basic heavy, at least for a while. I do know I am definitely going to end up with prototype minmatar logi and at least advanced level of every other minmatar suit type. While less common than Gallente blaster ships, you can put blasters on Caldari boats. The hybrid weapon bonuses for both races ships apply to blasters AND rails. Doesn't seem to be going that way in dust anymore though, with blaster and railgun skills being split from eachother and suit bonuses specifying blasters or rails instead of hybrid weapons in general. Which is a bit of a shame, because I liked that shared weapon design quirk for Caldari and Gallente, but I suppose it makes less sense for newer weapons which are obviously exclusively Caldari/Gallente in design to share bonuses than the older spaceship hybrid weapon systems, which could have been originally developed while Caldari were part of the Federation

I would play 100% Caldari if i had a respec.... : / Im an Amarrial Loyalist, but Caldari Stuff suit my playstyle more.... (i notice this when i do better with Covenant C-1 and a basic RR than my ADV AMARR Assault + ADV Scrambler rifle...and im good with the SCR rifle...) GIVE ME A RESPEC CCP.

Everything else would go right back to where it was. Kind of nice being able to carry almost every weapon at advanced just to change things up though. I tried the flaylock but didn't really like it.(only have standard) I got lvl 2 or 3 Mass Driver(used it a few times when I first put points into it) I got basic Logi, advanced Assault an advanced Scout all Minmatar. When the Minmatar heavy stuff comes, I'll try it out. I mostly care about Minmatar LAVs.

With weapons and modules I figure that they're so common in the universe that one type isn't really for one race anymore, I use what I need to get the job done. Of course I've only got around 9.5 million and I'm only just starting to look seriously at tweaking fittings to give me a slight advantage on the battlefield so that may change.

I commit heresy practically everytime I call in an assualt suit. usually though I run a dragonfly with level 1 combat rifle and knives. don't let it fool you somehow the level 1 combat rifle will take ppl down almost as fast as the boundless and with speed on my side I end up getting the jump on ppl and putting them down from mid range.
