Well, I skilled into Gallente suits exclusively, and I like the weapons.
If only we had Gallente Knives...
I skilled into RR and CR by only one point, but have plenty of SP into sniper Rifles. |

My suits are all Minmatar.
Knives are Caldari but I can't wait till the Minmatar Knives come out.
Shotgun is Gallente.
My rifle is Minmatar as well as my Submachine gun.
I tried the flaylock but didn't really like it.(only have standard)
I got lvl 2 or 3 Mass Driver(used it a few times when I first put points into it)
I got basic Logi, advanced Assault an advanced Scout all Minmatar. When the Minmatar heavy stuff comes, I'll try it out. I mostly care about Minmatar LAVs.

I think they both have their merits, finally. The only reason the rail Incubus doesn't always straight up spank a Python is because the Python is much more agile. So, a lot of it comes down to playstyle, and the convenience of always having rapid fire missiles on hand, that can be further enhanced with damage mods.
It's a matter of preference I feel

Pure Amarr footsoldier character, a gallente scout character, a gallente logistics character, a min. melee stimulant character, and a caldari vehicle specialist.

I'm probably going to run all caldari still, especially if they ever give shield that lil buff/love they need (can y shield regulators pppplllleeeeeeaaaasssseeee be useful, Cruz the choice between that and plates is no brainer)
Oddly though, I have a love for the AR, maybe just BC I'm more comfortable with it then the rail rifle (and I don't want to invest my limited 2.5m sp into something pending a nerf)
I'm kinda eager to try the cal commando though, I have a feeling it going to be kinda beast, especially in the AV department. Duel wield plasma cannon/swarms anyone? Stack damage mods and pop tanks all day... or at least I think that's how it will work lol.

I know I talked about not limiting tactics before but I realised there had been a pattern in my New Eden history:
Loved mass driver and have used it 95% of my merc life
Loved REs
Loved being triage with my rep tool
Had the minmatar logi skin since E3 build
Will be keeping proto minlogi if it has that repair skill
Am getting minmatar scout for hacking bonus and stealth
Like the combat rifle
And being familiar with the lore and history behind Minmatar, I think my die has been cast. Closely backed by additional gear from the freedom seeking Gallente. Inadvertently I will probably spec mostly into Minmatar gear but really just by coincidence.

i consider myself amarian..the only proto suits i have are amarrian and the only ones i want are amarrian however i prefer smg's for sidearms in all games and amar only hasa pistol..im planning on using it eventually and i do love it..but will only use it on my amarr scout..as for my other slower suits..heavy for example carries minni weaponry i will specc amarr..heavy when its released but depending i may still use my hmg..i will always use minmatar sidearms unless a smg amar type weapon is released.
i also use the ar over the ascr..personally because of the ease of use ascr has insane kick and ar has none.
for long range i am a lase rifle user and always will be i dont use the long range scrambler rifle i prefer lr
i have other racial suits to adv and botth races of tanks somewhat specced ..mostly again because they havnt released the amarrian gear that i want yet...should they release all racial products i will most likely run pure amarrian suits

It's going to be too limiting to go full racial with weapons. It'll be a long time before we see racial variants of shotguns, sniper rifles, knives (if ever). Not to forget the weak selection of heavy weapon class.
But if we do get a full respec I'll go with all Minmatar suits |

So far all my SP is in Gallente as far as drop suits are concerned at least. With weapons and modules I figure that they're so common in the universe that one type isn't really for one race anymore, I use what I need to get the job done. Of course I've only got around 9.5 million and I'm only just starting to look seriously at tweaking fittings to give me a slight advantage on the battlefield so that may change. |

Haha in EVE and Dust I'd say that I'm pretty f@#$ed up when it comes to keeping with a single race. I like to run proto amarr with proto Boundless Combat Rifle and as high powered an smg as I can stick in my side holster.
I commit heresy practically everytime I call in an assualt suit.
usually though I run a dragonfly with level 1 combat rifle and knives. don't let it fool you somehow the level 1 combat rifle will take ppl down almost as fast as the boundless and with speed on my side I end up getting the jump on ppl and putting them down from mid range. |
