I'm planning on getting multiple scouts. At the very least the Cal scout and Amarr scout.
If I spec into any other roles, they will be Caldari suits though.
And now that the magsec and bolt pistol are coming out, I plan on mainly using caldari weaponry.
1.8 can't get here soon enough.

My plan is to pure fleet all Caldari suits and weapons. Right now i'm proto CalAssault and pretty deep into the Rail Rifle (operation V, prof V, optimization III, reload III, ammo III). I use the SMG quite a bit but even with that I stay with the Ishakone Assault model...I'm pretty keen to see how the MagSec plays out....this might be only area that I retain veer off the Caldari slate of kit.
My plan was to start working up a pure support logi builld for CalLogi but with additional racial options coming online pretty soon I'm a little torn.

I have Proto Gal Scout, Assault, and Logi. Not skilled into any other suits. Will Proto both the Gal Sentinel and Commando as soon as they come out.

My original plan when starting Dust was to primarily skill into my main race, Caldari, and start delving into Minmatar as I got more skills to support their higher support skill reliance, like I did in EVE. They share shield skills, so at least I have that as common ground.
As I played more, I started to love the versatility in the slot layout of Minmatar suits, particularly the logi and from the way things are looking, the upcoming sentinel. I can fit them for high shields and mobility if I'm going to be on my own, I can fit them with plates if I'm going to squad up with logis.
IF there is a respec, I don't know if I'm going to put any points back into Caldari suits, beyond maybe basic heavy, at least for a while. I do know I am definitely going to end up with prototype minmatar logi and at least advanced level of every other minmatar suit type.

While less common than Gallente blaster ships, you can put blasters on Caldari boats. The hybrid weapon bonuses for both races ships apply to blasters AND rails.
Doesn't seem to be going that way in dust anymore though, with blaster and railgun skills being split from eachother and suit bonuses specifying blasters or rails instead of hybrid weapons in general. Which is a bit of a shame, because I liked that shared weapon design quirk for Caldari and Gallente, but I suppose it makes less sense for newer weapons which are obviously exclusively Caldari/Gallente in design to share bonuses than the older spaceship hybrid weapon systems, which could have been originally developed while Caldari were part of the Federation |

Im an Amarrial Loyalist, but Caldari Stuff suit my playstyle more....
(i notice this when i do better with Covenant C-1 and a basic RR than my ADV AMARR Assault + ADV Scrambler rifle...and im good with the SCR rifle...)

If the Caldari Assault didn't look so good, then yes, I'd be going all out for one race (Minmatar). The Minmatar Assault will still be terribad, but I will be getting the Logi to 5 as well as the Caldari Assault, Combat Rifle, and SMG.

Me too, proto assault/logi, adv sentinel/commando and I mostly only use scramblers/lasers/pistols.
When the suits do all get released, it is going to be painfully obviously how little stuff the amarr have compared to everyone else.
(3 weapons total, no grenades, 1 equipment that they don't even make, no maps, no vehicles, no turrets, no AV, no heavy weapon)
While there is no better place to be wealthy than the Gallente Federation, there is no hell worse for the poor either.

As more Caldari items are being released, the more I invest in Caldari tech. So I'm happy with the choices that are being brought to the table with 1.8. Now I can consider going commando or sentinel. It's Cal all the way for me.

If they refund the infantry skill trees I'd consider dropping non-Minmatar weapon skills and lose the prototype basic frame skills I've had for the last year too. Everything else would go right back to where it was. Kind of nice being able to carry almost every weapon at advanced just to change things up though. I'm lucky that my primary suit was in from the beginning and my secondary came out not too long after.

Other than some BPOs, I run pretty much exclusively Amarr suits, will be shifting some SP from other races into Amarr scout and commando if we get a refund so that will continue to be the case
Weapon wise I have all 4 rifles at proto but I love the CR, It has beautifully low fitting costs so I can use more/better equipment, but maybe that won't matter with the new bonuses. Who knows. The burst fire also slows down my spastic fingers which always end up overheating my ScR.
Now, if they really ARE fixing the laz0r rifle this month, then perhaps I will be using a pure Amarr load out much more often but tactically it's just not practical to be racially pure in your entire fitting all the time.

This account is pure minmatar, and I have another three accounts purely dedicated to the other three races (but equipment does not count).
My only problem is that my minmatar and my caldari have specced rather heavily into Scrambler rifles before I made the decision to go all purist. |
