as a developer I find the 2 weapon slot limitation very restrictive on design, so I came up with an eve inspired resoloution.
what if we had inactive back up weapon slots on some suits.
so for example the min scout suit might have 1 light weapon slot, and 2 back up side arm slot.
the way these slots would work is you could open your equipment tab and activate these weapon slots like a tank activates their modules, when you do your currently active weapon is disabled and you can now use the back up weapon until you activate another weapon module.
these slots could also work as half way slots, and a middle ground for the designers, ratehr then just taking a whole slot away maybe bump it down to a back-up slot. //////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
on a side note these multiple weapon slots would begin to take up a lot of cpu and pg, so I would like to suggest a simple answer for that to, give the players a racial optimization skill.
depending on the suit the racial optimization skill will reduce a particular weapons cpu and pg by 10% each.
so in this case the mim scout might get a 50% reduction to nova knives and flaylock pistols.
while the mim assault might get a 50% reduction combat rifles, and the mim logi might geta 50% reduction in RE's or mass drivers |

tanks could have a similar specialization, imo tanks aren't even finished yet.
the current tanks are rather low grade, and feel honestly like standard tanks, I mean sure infantry can't do **** to them, butthe fights are over in 2 shots between even the best tank pilots. |

Isn't that kinda the point? To be restrictive so you're dependent upon other people in your team?
a system can be restrictive to a player, but not restrictive to a developer.
as it stands theirs very little a developer can do with the weapon slots of the suits, this allows them to be a bit more free and add a level of uniqueness to each suit that is just not available currently. |
