We have gotten a respec 3 times since Chromosome. The fist was Uprising 1.0 because they had completely redone the skill tree. The second was a couple of weeks later due to skill tree changes. The last one was when they redid the vehicle tree, and they only refunded vehicle SP.
So why do you think they would give us a respec on suits just because new suits are coming out? We didn't get respecs for the new rifles even though they were changed.
Yes there should have been all racial heavies and scout from the start, but there weren't and that was 7 months ago. People since then have had more than enough time since then to save up SP if they absolutely have to have something when it's released. The only reason why they've ever given out repecs is because they fundamentally change how skills are allocated on the tree, not by the contents on the tree. Changing suit bonuses doesn't warrant a total dropsuit tree refund.
I'm not saying I wouldn't like a complete dropsuit command tree rework and subsequent respec. I'm just saying don't get your hopes up or plan for one. If we get one we'll get one, but if you really want the new stuff it's best to start saving up now.

I wouldn't even bother. Most people I've seen posting here get the vast majority of their kills/wins in MIL fits anyway. Just ask, you'll see.

I think they should because, like the tanks, the skills for the drop suits are being completely changed.
Why shouldn't we get a respec?

Well seeing as they're also completely reworking existing dropsuit bonuses and probably a lot of the stats, I'd say at least a partial respec is in order - skills under the Dropsuit Command section only. |

I'm just basing this off of past history. They never repecced weapons despite the stat changes.

I just want a respec for the Swarm Launcher. I wanted a light infantry weapon for destroying vehicles, I didn't want a useless hunk of junk, but CCP made it this way.
I don't want CCP to respec everything, just the Swarm Launcher Skills.

We spec into skills for what they do. Like the suits skills. I personally skilled into the amarr assault for the laser cool down skill because I like using amarr weapons.
Others specced into the min logi for the hacking bonus because they like being that kind of asset to their team.
Now they are being changed. We should get a respec because the Skill themselves are being changed. CCP actually did a respec for light weapon rapid reload. Just that. Because they changed the skill multiplier on the skill. They did this about 4 months ago
So we should get a respec because no matter how much planning we do, no one could have foreseen the changes to the skills

Because while Dust should be about making choices that define your path in the game, it doesn't make any since to force players to stick to a chosen path when the path itself can change and become something else entirely - very potentially a path that player wouldn't have picked in the first place.
As it is, spending SP is a gamble. What you skill into might be a perfect fit now and in six months...or it might change somewhat drastically. |

Yeah, this isn't about adding new content as it is about changing the entire infantry dropsuit skill tree.
And stop saying RESPEC. What WILL happen is that they are giving us a REFUND of any skill points put into skills that were changed.
Just as the tankers got their refund when their tanks were changed, us infantry will be getting a refund of our dropsuit command skills.
The reasoning being that a skill we had previously skilled into for a certain bonus may not be avilable to us anymore...so they will let us skill into something else if we want. They did this when they changed the dropsuit skills the first time, so it will absolutely happen again.

No one is asking for respecs because new stuff comes out. If that is how you are interpreting this, than shame on you.
- People are asking for a respec because they are making major changes to the roles each suit will fill.
- People are asking for a respec because the remaining core dropsuit selection is coming out, which should have been in the game from the start.
- People are not asking for a respec simply because it's new content. When the pilot suit specialization comes out, no one is going to be asking for a respec. When fighter jets or MTACs come out, no one is going to ask for a respec. Again, people are asking for a respec because the stuff that's getting released soon is core content that should of been there from the start.

It can't just be the Dropsuit Command skill tree, however, because what you spec into with dropsuits directly impacts what you must spec into for the Dropsuit Upgrades skill tree. I can see this argument pushing one further to weaponry, but that's a hardest case to sell. Really, at the least, we absolutely need to have a Dropsuit Command and Dropsuit Upgrades respec (or refund if you want to call it that).

Getting a respec when devs give parts or the entire skilltree some kind or overhaul or change vital functions of certain pieces of equipment that changes the dynamic of the skills you bought is reasonable.
However I don't think it's reasonable to expect a respec everytime completely new content is added to the game.
Basically change something significantly that was there before (aside from nerfing/buffing of course, because that needs to be done for the sake or balance) then players should be given the opportunity to respec. ADDING new content however shouldn't be grounds for a respec. |

Because it the right thing to do, the first thing CCP should release was all the racial dropsuit for all roles its the basic of basic. You said that we should have enough SP saved from the past 7 months and you are right some of us do have enough SP for this moment, but what if theirs a player whose one month old that just got his first million SP and he decide to spend it all on heavy only to get screw when CCP decide to release all the racial heavies are we gonna punished this player too?
If CCP decide not to give respec than we gonna see lots of people b!tching about it and this time they have every RIGHTS to it. Maybe not a full recpec but just a partial of it. |

Based on what?
How do you know ccp didn't intend to leave the racial categories of suits as they were to symbolize differences in each race' type of warfare?
By your line of reasoning ALL new content would be considered "delayed content". -.- |

It's been 7 months.... at some point that isn't a valid point for a respec.
I'm fine for reimbursing the Dropsuit skill tree so people can re choose their racial and class specializations. With new roles and complete rework of the dropsuit tree's. Not weapons/equipment though.
I'm not gonna change my racial suit so it doesn't even fully concern me if that even happens. It would be funny to see everyone stuck with their SP that went Assault Logi in the 7 month Logi is king cycle..
