For a vehicle of war, these things might as well be shooting spitballs at eachother. If i were developed a vehicle such as this, it would be loaded with guns and turrets that can be manned as needed. My ideal mcc would be a combination of b-52 and 18th century mon-o-war. |

It's actually like a super carrier it has our clones, equipment, vehicles, and a command center for logistic purposes. So basically a master at defense and logistic support. The type of vehicle you speak of would be a destroyer.

It's cannons actually one shot anything in the game. They are not seek, they just seem weak in relation to each other.

1. The weapons on the MCC are not weak. If they were aimed at us you would change your mind quickly. 2. The Mobile Command Center is not a gunboat. It's more a mix between transport and carrier.
What's the difference between an immobile Minmatar ship and a pile of garbage?
The pile of garbage is more lethal.

The null cannons do the bulk of the work. For a ship that is probably worth billions of isk, everyone seems to have supreme confidence in the mercs fighting for them. I would think that they would want to give their mercs every opportunity to try and ensure success. |

Also, please stop spouting nonsense about how all it does is shoot at the other MCC, or that the weapons mounted on it aren't sufficient. All we see is the shooting, sure, but what we don't see is that it's carrying all of our equipment and all of our clones. Not to mention the reason why it's there in the first place, and why blowing up the other MCC is so damn important. Ever thought of that? If the enemy MCC's firepower is "negligible", why do we have to take it out and why do we want to preserve our own MCC in the first place? Obviously because it's important in some way aside from firepower.
These are not ships designed for brawling, these are sophisticated support vessels whose primary purpose is to assist. Think of it this way: their firepower isn't weak. Rather, their protection is superior. They are meant to take a lot of damage, not put out a lot of damage. They put their resources into improving durability and not into improving firepower, so they can support infantry for as long as possible.
What's the difference between an immobile Minmatar ship and a pile of garbage?
The pile of garbage is more lethal.

Nice idea, you could add a room in the mcc with some computers you can use to control the turrets - makes me think of Star Wars Battlefront 2 :D I could see this working as long as they only have just enough range to take out red line campers |

Then why don't they one-shot some of the enemy and help us take the NULL cannons, which do many times more damage than the MCC's weapons. |

They way i picture this working would be if the external turrets could be destroyed once the shields are down. Players manning them could be killed just like when they man the ground turrets. Even if you had every turret manned and blasting the enemy mcc, you couldn't win without holding half of the control points. It would give everyone a way to protect their red line too. Maybe if that turret on the underside of the mcc did more to protect it's resources, i.e. us, we wouldn't be having this conversation.

In eve you do not fit artillery onto a mining barge. You do not put remote reps on a tackle frigate. You do not equip an Iteron with ewar equipment. Do you know why? Because that is not what they are meant for. By fitting a module on a ship that is meant to be using a different module, you are compromising the efficacy of that ship. On eve, if you aren't using a ship strictly for the purposes it is used for, you are going to lose.
The mobile command center is supposed to be a mobile command center. It is going to be directing all its cpu and power grid capabilities towards accomplishing those goals. To fit guns on an mcc would mean you are compromising another aspect of the ship, such as its clone facilities, or its shields and armor. |

If we argue from a logic perspective, we'd also have mercs with more than two gun slots and the ability to run for more than two meters before their stamina runs out. Their stamina should be effectively unlimited, considering that matches only last half an hour at most. We already have exoskeletons that are more than capable for that time frame and only aren't used because they can't work for more than a few hours. They'd also be able to jump superhumanly high, LAVs would have actual suspension systems that would allow the gunners to actually do their work while driving and auto-aim would be replaced by homing bullets with a lock-on feature. All HUDs would show if an enemy clone is actually terminated and sniper rifles would have extreme zoom scopes. Wind and other effects would affect weapons, but the scope of a sniper rifle would actually show you where to shoot to hit someone at any range. Nova knives would allow you to perform martial arts to murder all heavies and unaware mediums with insta-kills, while light suits would be flexible enough to stop you if they actually invested SP into either a melee weapon (Which they'd need to be carrying at the time) or unarmed combat. Dropship missile launchers would launch homing missiles and Swarmer missiles would have the ability to avoid any obstacles and to lock on with infinite range.
Oh and all gun ranges would be more than doubled. You'd be able to do long-range combat with an HMG and snipe people from your redline to the enemy redline. You'd also be able to exchange slots of any kind for additional ammo.
And everyone would have permanent wallhack because the MCC would have a scanner installed. It would also shoot homing missiles at any HAVs or dropships that dare to take to the batllefield.
And if you want to go *really* logical, everyone would be living in cyberspace and waging virtual war for fun. Which would mean that the game goes right back to making sense. |
