I swear to god that **** can kill from 150m no problem, alot of times without seeing who shoots at you even your looking straight in the direction, thats how far away they are,I I can bearly spot them. If i was a new player i would cry, but as it is I'm to old for that and to old to change aswell I'll just mope for a bit, and congratulate the dudes that invested everything in it! I forgot! I was reading the stats on it before it came, was going to switch to the ******, but it was during my dust break so i forgot. I think I'm gonna take another one |

No just every long range weapon needs a rof nerf. I made a post about buffing the roof but realized it would shorten the ttk. So a nerf to every weapon in ROF, but the AR, will balance things. The longer the range the bigger the nerf. |

From another thread I posted in about why rail rifles be op, tablets are a Butch to put quotes on with.
I run gek 38s so I am biased, but I decided to sho with math why RR are op, and beat AR in close ranged, when they should not by canon/intention. These figures are using the standard variants of each. The difference may be greater or lesser in adv. And proto. Variants. I use a term call hose time to describe the amount of time it takes to fire a whole clip/magazine.
AR DPS= 435. RR DPS = 432 Ar hose time= 4.8. RR hose time= 5.6 Damage per magazine Ar =2040 RR =2400 Accuracy: Ar= 55.1. RR = 58.26
What gives the RR the edge is its increased damage per magazine and extended duration to spray a d pray, as well as its greater hip firei accuracy. An Ar will get less bullets on target due to its decreased hip fire accuracy, and will have to reload sooner while an RR can keep spraying bullets in his face. Even if you factor in the .25 charge up time the RR only loses 108 damage at the start of the engagement while gaining 344 after an Ar would need to reload. I can only assume these numbers become greater with higher tier rail rifles. That coupled with the higher effective range and lack of dispersion while aiming down sites makes them much More powerful then Ar s in just about all circumstances.
Please note I did all this math by hand and would appreciate someone checking my work, and please forgive any formatting or spelling errors, this tablet hates me.
As far as my reccomendations to make the RR function more in line with e role it was Intended, I think simply reducing the hip fire accuracy would make it perform more in line with the role it was designed for, much like tactile Ars are very inaccurate fired from the hip. Reducing its ammo capacity or ROF some might also make it less effective in cqc, however I think that might nerf the gun more then needed. |

I think this sounds fantastically reasonable. Then the assult can keep a good focus as being a closer range weapon aswell. Because that is its new role,

I'd suggest:
Rail Rifle reduced DPS to be the same as the SMG (383 base) Combat Rifle gets DPS adjusted to below AR (target 400 DPS, AR is 425) Laser Rifle gets double optimal range so it outranges all ARs (same ADS, very long-range requires skill)
That'd make me happy. It'd give each weapon a definite zone of effectiveness where it does the best DPS. Whereas currently everything pretty much has the same DPS and the thing with the longest range just spanks the rest...

I know the feeling, I've been killed in CQC one one ones several times, each happened withint a 2-3m range, I had my Advanced SMG out and they had their Advanced Rail Rifle. |

In every other game long range weapons have CONSIDERABLY lower DPS. Even mechwarrior, which i believe brought in the original 'impossible to hit scout' Tonne per tonne, an LBXAC20 has less DPS than a small laser

All the rifles are way too strong. 20% dmg nerf across them would raise ttk to good amount I believe.

I'm not sure an ROF nerf is the way to go in the case of the RR, I have not done a cr comparison similar to the one I did above due to the fact that I did all the math by hand, though it probably merits a similar comparison.
I have played around with rrs a bit using the state ones and though they are quite powerful against stationary targets moving targets are still rather difficut to kill, and part of that is due to its ROF and kick. A ROF nerf would necessitate a damage buff to keep equivalent DPS, which I think long term would be worse then it currently is, as it would have less of a cumulative kick effect, resulting in it being easier to snipe with while doing higher damage.
Think of a fully auto tactile ar with more ammo. I believe an accuracy nerf would put it in the place its suppose to be, as of right now you can hip fire with great accuracy from 50m out due to the lack dispersion and high accuracy, which is to great an advantage when it really should be a weapon you need to aim down sites to use, slowing down the first and making his ability to target moving target more limited. |

Last night there was a player Ghoul X with a proto logi suit and Kaalkiota rail, he did 52/2 with it.
At one point I got the drop on him and emptied an entire full belt w/enhanced damage mod at point blank maybe 5-7 meters range from my HMG into his back, he then turned and waxed we in seconds, maybe 2-3 shots, in my sentinel suit with all 5's armor and shields skills as I tried to reload.

I logged off and that imbalanced horseshit took one more piece out of my incentive to play this horribly executed embarrassment to EVE, put the Iceland devs in charge please CCP these Shanghai jackasses could'nt code pong if they tried and their life depended on it.

I use RR but I don't believe they are OP at all in comparison to other weapons. I find that most people that go RR have high armor. In addition, I've easily lost to a lot of lower tier'd fits with my Adv+ fit in one on one situations. I do agree that the range is a bit sick BUT being that I typically run a 500+armor fit, I can locate them, find cover, flank and take them out. Or sometimes just come straight out and take them out when they approach at an attempt to finish me off. I would suggest that fits with less total HP should consider more cover as opposed to being in plain site like it was before 1.7. I hated the fact that someone could be in plain sight 100m away and my AR couldn't do anything at the time. I think it forces people to explore cover more. |

You kan keep all the 'kun pow' of the weapons tho, if you only slow the rate of fire. Do you guys meen single fireing like the First Scrabler rifle? Range works like this annyways, like a trade off. Anyways the way its stands now with the Rail Rifle, you can just PRESS FIRE and hold it in, chew ppl up at full auto at a LONG range. Truly impressive weapons technology tho, and a bit ****** up. As you all know this leads to a hindered gameplay. Or in the least VERY different. It's not fun to get gunned down 7/10 times you try and make a small move, like switching close barricades, or trying to re locate in general. NOT IF A RAIL IS WITHIN 150m! All the maps with open spots are dominated like this annyways, over 50% less manouverability I'd say. Maybe I should just get used to it, and play every round in a squad with mic, making shure of the balance of power before i throw myself into the whirwhild of Rail Rifles that has been my experience of the last days. How to fix it:
Since rails are ranged weapons make the user get tunnel vision like trying to use a sniper rifle up close, like looking through a straw.
