If it is because of A.I., and the A.I. is truly amazing- then 6 vs 6 could be fine. The A.I. is not just some bs thing it sounds like, but that you can leave your mech, and it would still be a participant automatically supporting you.
It depends how it is done. Could be awesome

I could care less about the the player count. All the talk of TitanFall killing DUST makes me laugh, it is just like saying Hearthstone is going to kill DUST. The games can't even be compared, I am going to tell you what will kill DUST. The players calling for constant nerf and buffs, slow development, limited game modes and things like that. Just like the GTAV and the PS4 killed this game, I doubt it.
