Always remember on armour tanks to add some resistances. I've seen shield tanks w/o resistance, just ehp, but that's not as common either. There really isn't any stealth tanking, since you can't stealth if anyone is even in the process of locking you, and the stealth ships themselves are wet paper bags compared to other ships in their class.
Ewar tanking, now that I find fun, even though I rarely did it. (Had it done *to* me more often, heh.) ECM, sensor dampening, and turret destabilization are all valid ways to shut down an opponent's dps. Used to be the Amarrs' Arbitrator was a pretty decent T1 cruiser to take out on solo runs; the dps is a bit low, but as long as you didn't come across a migh-meta frigate or a missile ship you were fairly good to go.
The huge difference in tanking strategies btwn the two Eve games is due to, I think, the TTK styles. FPS needs a quicker TTK than Eve Online does. 1v1 frigate fights are commonly finished within 30 secs as I understand it, but more than 10 sec most of the time. That would seem like an eternity in an FPS, I wager.

Artificer Ghost wrote:Right, I understand there's not a lot of Stealth done in EVE (One thing DUST did "sort of" right).
I had this thought just the other day, and I'm not subscribing anymore so I can't put it in Feedback forum, but I think it would have been neat if they had two different cloak types--one which electronically cloaked you (invisible to probes and overviews), and one which made you physically invisible. Would introduce some interesting combat situations.

Something I can't afford to lose on this fit) with Antimatter Charges -1x 1MN Microwarpdrive (Originally, it was an Afterburner, but I wanted to see how powerful a MWD is. Not goin' back) -1x Stasis Webifier I -1x Warp Distrupter I -1x 400mm Armor Plate -1x Drone Damage Amplifier -1x Damage Control Unit
So far it's doing pretty well. My only thing is that I don't have enough PG.
So far in my Dust experience, the CPU/PG skills are more important in Eve Online than Eve Dust. You'll want to get those, and the +ehp skills to 4 pretty quickly so you can do better fits. (Except your non-tank ehp, that can stop at 3 first.) I notice you don't have any rigs on that ship yet, so look at getting Jury Rigging to 3 and Drone Rigging and Armour Rigging to 1 at least, maybe 3.
To use your web, you're putting yourself pretty close to Warp Scrambler range, or 2-point/double point, w/e one wants to call it. That'll shut down your MWD, and you'll wish you had your AB when you watch your Algos go boom. ;) But don't worry about it, it's all one big paper-rock-scissors game. You could dual-prop (MWD and AB), but then you'll loose either point or web. Or you choose one of the prop mods and settle for its pros & cons.
As you can, move towards meta 4 guns. I'm not sure if you'll want T2 or not, I don't have the T2 hybrid ammos memorized like I do laz0rs. A +pg rig might help with that.
It's nice to hear about your return to Eve Online while I'm not playing it. I wish I had the time I would like to play it.

I just mean shields on Amarr/GallenteMinmatar(if armour-tanking.) or armour on Caldari/Minmatar(if shield-tanking.)

There are enough good and bad things said about both that I think they are worthwhile to try, at least. Nothing done there can't be undone. Advice can be asked for here, too. I have other suggestions for good starting places depending on your EveO goals, but it takes a certain kind of person, not the kind usually attracted to Eve.
Also, joining a FW corporation will immediately give you allies, blues at least if not fleetmates.

Sometimes, with the right skill(player skills), you can tease an opponent with possible victory and keep them in the fight long enough without a point that you can suddenly apply more dps (over heat guns, or maybe not be firing all the guns at first, or change ammo or range....) and end up killing them before they realize they have been had. I've seen videos of others doing it, I am not one of those people.
Got a link to the km, or do want to protect your anominity?

I'm enjoying EddieRi0's Eve pvp videos. Good commentary, good attitude. Found him from CEOPyrex's Dust514 vids. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EpSuSa00OTA&feature=c4-overview&list=UUHzW-hXoYMND1HaeyilteDA
