... for starters loving the combat rifle! This by far has to be best weapon imo. It is pretty well balanced.
As I am rusty from not playing this piece of crap game for almost 3-4 months now, I decided to tank myself for the first couple of matches just to get my grove back. Went pretty much positive the entire game and finished off with a 2.5 KD at the end of the game.
But this game was boring as hell. I have never ever been in a scenario where it has taken people more than 10 seconds to kill me after getting the drop on me. I mean seriously where are the days when you could down a person in 2-3 seconds when you got the drop on them. This pretty much continued for better parts of the entire match. I came to this conclusion at the end of the match;- the quality of players in the particular match were way below substandard. Yes! I said it! The quality of dust players right now is pathetic. Shooting and killing stationary dummies will be more of a challenge.
On to the next game and I get on my lol beast mode with my Raven assault loadout with the combat rifle. I am pretty much going ham on these idiots when suddenly;- bam bam bam im dead. I get sniped! I say whatever and move on. I go into the complex and suddenly again bam bam bam im dead again. It was time to hunt, kill and teabag that sniper.
As being an expert sniper myself i had a rough idea where that sniper was. I flank him and guess what;- the dude is exactly where I thought he would be in the red zone with a clear line of sight into the complex with absolutely nothing between him and the compound. If anybody had to flank him from the compound they would have about 400 mts of open space between them and the sniper. Absolutely terribly horrible map design! After killing him and teabagging his sorry ass I see him on ground with a scrambler. Then I notice on the killfeed another sniper and I say to myself here were go again. I go the same spot and lo behold;- a numnut sniping from way beyond in the red zone He got the same treatment the other sniper got. Killed and teabagged. I decided to hang around there just to make sure none of those idiots in that team make the same mistake. An guess what;- the nunmut i killed before hope himself into a DS and tries to crush me with it. The idiot instead crashes the viper and gets himself killed and teabagged my again. Between those 2 numnuts of snipers I spent my time tango with an enemy rail tank. I swear it suprised the heck out of me when those rails fired at me as faster as a flaylock did. Im glad the tanker in question was garbage and couldnt hit me. But boy oh boy;- those rails are pretty mean and have a long range. I ended the game with a 4 KD.
And that was it for me.
Red lines need to be readjusted and red line rail tanks and snipers need to go. These things can make the game less fun for new comers. TL;DR New player bases is garbage Red line rail tanks are garbage Red line snipers are garbage

TL;DR New player bases is garbage Red line rail tanks are garbage Red line snipers are garbage Thanks for the heads up but your stance is that good map design = no red line sniping? Don't you mean, good sniper = finds LOS regardless of map design?
You saying, "Who makes a military complex that doesn't obscure LOS against sniping?"
I've have given this some thought and I realized that we can try to block LOS with objects but then the routes around those objects become target points for the sniper. Does that make sense? Leme rephrase. By playing with the map design to make it hard for snipers, we will actually make it easier for snipers. A good sniper will always find LOS to a high traffic target point. You are a veteran sniper so you understand this right?

A good sniper is always where his team needs him the most;- either smack in the middle of the battle or covering an objective. Red line sniping doesnt achieve anything other than being a minor annoyance. How can you cover objectives when you cant even see them?
The only thing red line sniping does is get you counter sniped or shot in the back and teabagged.
However the map design and red line sniping are 2 different topics altogether. One has to do with crappy design and the other has to crappy players. The first one can be easily fixed. not the second.

Maybe I shall rephrase. By trying to block objectives LOS with map design we in turn create new points of high traffic for the snipers to target. So you understand that the objective is never really blocked.

For starters no one is talking about blocking LOS or putting objectives in the middle. What people are trying to say here (and get with the program) is that the red line is a horrible mechanic whether its rail sniping or sniping in general. If someone decides that they can snipe from within the red line that should be the red line. It shouldnt require someone to go on a suicide mission just to kill them. If someone is sniping from the their spawn and can hit the enemy;- guess what - the enemy should be able to hit them too.
The only block I am seeing is that brain of yours that is creative enough to assume I or other people are talking about putting obstacles in the maps and yet dumb enough not to know that we are talking about abuse of red line mechanics.

Yes. Ever tried it against an AR/SCR or Rail gun? Um no? I run like a ***** when I see people with those at range. You play the game and use your environment the way you want it not how the other red dot wants it.

QQ on that numnut!
You went out of your way, wasting valuable time you could be spending earning a victory for your team to kill a specific player (marginally useful) and then puesdo-humiliating that player (tea-bagging, useless).
Sounds like that sniper did a real number on you.

Teabagging seems like a good way to discourage new players. That poor boy/girl probably quit the game after that, cried a little, and then went to play their 2DS.
While I don't approve of tea bagging, I have to say kudos for doing it past the redline. That's some hardcore dedication.

First and foremost I forgot to mention we won both matches. My bad!
I guess in all my excitement in talking about crappy red mechanics I forgot to mention "We WON!!!".
Anyways back to your idiosociopsychotic phrase about me wasting my valueable time trying to kill 2 snipers I have to say this;- I spent an hour playing Dust last night. Now that was a valueable waste to my precious time. Killing and teabagging those 2 snipers was the limelight of my wasted time playing Dust. I really enjoyed that Charlie Chaplin moment.
So there ya go dumdum!

You would be suprised how desparate some kids are as this is a F2P game. Last year in Sep i was in a FW match and saw a kid go 0-19 with 0 wps in one game and then go 0-13 with 25 wps in the second game. Invited the kid to my squad because I felt sorry for him.
Some kids are way too thickskinned to care man!

I think counter-sniping is a legitimate way of spending a match. Winning is fun, but winning isn't everything. Player experience is where it counts. Nothing beats an awesome aerial dog fight in ADS against another ADS. Or the tense-heart pounding battle between two snipers shooting at each other from different mountains. What about the heavy who is desperately trying to cover open ground while Murder Taxis are trying to run him over, and he succeeds!!!
These are the kind of stories that will bring new players. Dust hasn't reached the point yet where winning actually matters to a merc. So in the mean time we should play how we want, with what we want if it means we are having fun doing so.

From a pub match point of view I agree wit your perspective and will give you due merits for your statements. However from a PC standpoint things are a lot different. For example snipers were/are rarely used in PC battles and if they were used they were smack in the middle or had eyes on 1 single objective. Tactics cheesy or otherwise win the game.
If one really needs to experience Dust they need to experience PC;- minus the awesome lag fest that it is now become. That is what brings out the best in dust.
It is to address better end user experience of Dust that I talked about addressing the red lines.

Hey Howard! How does still being a non factor appealing to you bro?
And you reading skills havent improved either. You selective reading ability is getting worse by the day numnut. If (and I stress on the word IF) you read my post you would have seen that the first thing I talk about is the new player base being garbage. If you had any common sense you would have seen that mean addressing the red line rail tanking and red line sniping as garbage too.
The garbarge 1 i.e the new player base mixed with the garbage 2 i.e. red line rail tanking and garbage 3 i.e. red line sniping doesnt make for a positive game experience. 2 or more garbages dont make a Pi+¿ce de r+¬sistance.
As far as my epeen is consider it is stuck down this hot brunnettes throat. I dont know what her name is.
As far as your understanding ability is concerned;- you should have a functioning brain to understand what I said. Its not your fault that you lack one of it.
