This is a serious question.
Besides CCP Wolfman, does anyone at CCP even use the Amarr Assault suits? To my knowledge most use the Caldari Assault, and I believe Foxfour uses Gallente.
Yes, you all at CCP may be AWARE of the Amarr Assault suit 's abysmal slot layout, but you've probably never experienced it. I feel like you all at CCP assume that since the Amarr Assault starts at 180/180, that it has the highest eHP, and therefore gets the least amount of slots so it can't be super tanked. I want to tell you right now, if you assume that, you're flat out wrong.
The advanced Amarr Assault gets 2 high and 2 low slots. Now you CAN brick tank with two shield extenders and two plates, but you'd be crazy to. A more reasonable set up would be maybe one extender, one damage mod, one plate, and one repper. Now lookie here, you've just used two slots that could bolster your HP value for something for more reasonable.
Let's look at the other suits. With Caldari at the advanced level, you get 3 high and 2 low. Now since they are shield tankers, it makes sense for them to go three shield extenders, a plate, and maybe a repper. The Caldari has now only sacrificed one slot to not improving their HP. The Gallente at ADV I believe has 1 high and 3 low. I would fit one damage mod, two plates, and a repper. You have sacrificed two slots to not increasing HP BUT the extra low allowed for another plate AND a repper, so your armor value is higher than that of Amarr. As for Minmatar, I have no clue about their suits because I've never used them, but someone can contribute the data.
CCP, I just think you don't quite grasp how much of a joke it is to give a suit with such a low slot count at basic, advanced, and proto an armor repair bonus TO THE MOUDLE, and not at least inherent, built in repairs (like the logi currently). A complex repair will now be doing around 7 hp/s which is NOTHING. A complex rep would at least need to do 10-15 hp/s to be viable. Basically I'd be losing a potential 155 extra armor with a complex plate at level five to now fit a repper that ONLY GIVE ME 7HP/S!
CCP I'm telling you heart to heart right now - the Amarr Assault suit currently does not have the slot layout to make an armor rep bonus viable in the least bit. I ask you to simply use the suit some before you make a change like this so you can see just how tough it is to make a suit with 2 H 2 L or 3 H 3 L really shine.

Besides CCP Wolfman? CCP Wolfman is like the main guy for this stuff, so we're pretty lucky. Even if Amarr suits end up being bad, he'd be the first dev to realize it. We're in good hands, just keep prepping that honeyed lamb.

I know having Wolfman is beneficial, what I'm saying is for example has Saberwing or Foxfour or Logibro or Nullabor or Rattati or Rouge, etc ever used an Amarr Assault suit...I get this sinking feeling that the answer is no.

Saberwing and Logibro are just community managers I thought? Foxfour and Nullabor don't actually design the gameplay, they work on corporations, FW, and PC Rattati doesn't work on any development, he is a finance guy Rouge is new here, but he's the EP so I sure hope he has played all the suits and weapons and such.

I'm an Amarr purist in EVE. The Amarr Assault suits could have had 20 eHP and I would have trained into them, I would raise hell for CCP, but still trained into them.

Gal Assaults have 3 lows and 2 highs.
A Cal Assault not running a regulator? Got to make up for the penalty somehow.
The Amarr should start like 80/240 base hp that way the rep bonus will heal more armor. I know that's not going to fix this but it would help. |

First of all the suit is not THAT bad. It has higher baseHP and more importantly higher CPU/PG ratings than any other Assaultsuit. So in theory you can make better fittings.
Sure it has less slots, but in contrast to your opinion the bonus they get goes quite wel with the low slot layout. As you don't have that much space to fit a repper it would make perfect sense to make them as good as possible.
You may not like reppers and prefere plates thats fine but I guess some might like the new bonus...I fore myself always run reppers or reactive plates (depending on the suit).
But the bonus would make more sense if it would also work on reactive plates... |

The Gallente should get the rep bonus like EVE. The Amarr are the type of suit where enemies cower in fear because it has a TON of armor but apparently CCP forgot how the factions tank damage.

You are right this how things work in EVE, but for some silly reasons CCP decides to changes thing for DUST. In DUST the Armor buffer faction is now gallente...while amarr are some sort of hybrid tankers. So in general I would say they switched the specializations from EVE (regarding Amarr and Gallente).

On the CPU/PG bonus we get, you're forgetting that our main frontline weapon, the Scrambler Rifle, costs more PG than any other light weapon in the game, which would put us around the same point PG wise as all the other assault fits.
